Is the school area a public place?

im wondering since you're allowed to take a picture of a public place, even with people in it and put it out on the internet without asking anyone about anything, so im wondering if the school is a public place?

No it is for students, teachers, staff, and invited guests. It is not a public place. Most schools are the property of the city, county or state.

Yes you can, you take any pictures you want if where you're standing is public, And no, you don't need any bodies permission. There is no expectation of privacy in public. Just look at all the cctv cameras every where , do you have to give permission every time you walk past 1? no you don't. Places like malls are a bit harder to define because although they can be privately owned, they are open to the public which gives you implied rights just like you would have in public.

If it's a highschool, it wouldn't be legal because a good amount of the people are minors so they're protected by law. The allowance of uploading pictures of random people without permission rule only applies to adults, not minors. If it's a college, go for it.
