According to the bible there is only one unforgivable sin which is blasphemy of the holy spirit if someone?

becomes an atheist is that considered blasphemy of the holy spirit?

Also if that is correct then when someone becomes an atheist, they cannot become christians if they were ever christians because even if they become christians in your religion they are still going to hell right for denying the holy spirit?

So it is like this believed christian->lost faith became an atheist-/> cannot became christian again because they would have been denying the holy spirit which is unforgivable. The only way they can become a christian is if they were never christian right because they could not have denied something they never believed in right?

When Jesus was talking about the unforgivable sin, he was referring tot he Pherisees who was accusing him of using demons to heal people. In the context, Jesus was basically saying anyone who blasphemies or insults the holy spirit in such a manor is unforgivable. It is also clarifies that insulting God or jesus does not constitute as the unforgivable sin.

An example the unforgivable sin would be just that, calling the holy spirit a demon. As a result, being an atheist is not enough to have committed the unforgivable sin. Some people would also go as far as to say that one must knowledgeably commit it, so an atheist wouldn't even be able to commit it.

    Hi Alex,

It depends on the person's attitude and intent. It's possible the person thought he was a Christian but never really understood what it means to follow Jesus and live His way of life and love. That's not blaspheming God the Holy Spirit at all. If the person goes on to be an atheist and then returns to God because he or she is now convicted that following Jesus is the right thing to do, God welcomes that person with open arms. The parable of the prodigal son in scripture is about a situation like this.

The unforgivable sin is committed by someone who knows the truth and decides that his way is better than the truth. God the Holy Spirit leads Christians into spiritual truth, so to deny the truth at that point is denying God the Holy Spirit. Hope that's clear.

    All these words ....

Because a term exists, does not mean that it applies to anything. Spirit is such a term; it has a connection with the Greek 'pneuma' which refers to breath, and with the last exhalation one 'gives up the ghost'. Spirit is tied with life.

The Christians have appropriated this, and mystified and confounded meaning. Life is holy, it is part of the whole, and life in fact IS the point of it all. Christianity is a cult that believes in magic, acts of god, and that demons persecute people. If the world was run by the religious, we'd all be in the dark ages again.

Science strives to understand life and the world, science makes mistakes, corrects itself and moves on. Religion has not been right about anything - it is all faith, taken on faith with no proof whatsoever.

Anyone who heard of or read about Jesus should have immediately made the covenant to always obey all of his sayings ( greek text ) no matter what . But God , the Father will forgive that sin . But you still have to make that covenant .

With God all things are possible; with man it is not. All you have to do is; forget about the unforgivable sin. If you committed it; you wouldn't care to come back.
