What brand of RAM is better?

I'm going to be getting 16GB of RAM (4x4gb), but which brand is better: Corsair Vengeance or G.Skill Ripjaws X Series?

well I'm bias as I own corsair vengeance memory but generally most well known brands are good to go with be sure to check latency (CAS rating go with 8 or 9 otherwise very expensive!) also note the frequency 1333mhz - 1866mhz is where to go otherwise again things get pricey, also i understand the temptation what with most boards having four DIMM slots but do you really need 16GB of RAM I have 8GB and I have never used more than half of it. My final comment is buy low profile I have massive heat sinks on my memory and they obscure my cpu cooler a little, large heat sinks can also screw up the build entirely in some cases so be careful

Both brands are excellent and have high quality products. Between the two, I would personally choose Corsair... why? Simply because I like Corsair as a company tad bit better. But again, both are equal.

I'd say they're pretty equal in quality, G.SKILL almost always has black PCB on their DIMMs now while Corsair is doing plain green and sometimes black, so in that regard I will often prefer G.SKILL.

I usually go with the cheapest G.SKILL or Corsair RAM that matches the color scheme of my build.

I use Kingston RAM myself. Had problems with Corsair.

hmmm, both great brands, it kinda depends on which design you like better :D
