  • Hmmm I think some of the best popcorn comes from movie theaters and carnival stands but, since we cannot take the movie theater or carnival home, I figured out a really good way to make some popcorn in the microwave that my mom and my dad and my best friend (and I if that counts) LOVE. Just put microwave popcorn in the microwave, use the popcorn button, stop the microwave 20 sec early, and then put popcorn into large bowl and add plenty of salt! So movie theater and my household infamous microwave popcorn are my faves

I love a chocolate or peanut butter drizzle on my salty and butter coated popcorn. It adds a nice level of sweetness and a lot of flavor. The sweet and salty snack combination satisfies my taste buds much better than regular buttered popcorn. It's also really good to mix in chopped peanuts. A friend of mine likes to eat hot buttered popcorn with milk duds at the same time. The popcorn melts the chocolate and caramel from the milk duds and creates another sweet and salty flavor combination.

Hello, I like to add garlic powder to popcorn, it tastes different and tasty and my family loves it.

You can always drizzle melted DARK CHOCOLATE over your popcorn - YUMMY. Just melt some good quality dark chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler, be sure not to burn as chocolate will SCORCH quite easily. If you were to micro it, just do it in increments of 10 seconds and see how that goes.

Also some people like their popcorn really spicy, so you can sprinkle some hot pepper spices or chile powder over your popcorn but only VERY sparingly or you can ruin the popcorn.

I've also heard of people using cinnamon spice over popcorn because it's the holidays.

And of course, who could resist melted cheese? Love 'em nachos. Give me nachos anytime.

Happy Cooking. Happy Holidays. Take care.

I know the secret ingredient that the movie theaters use, and I always keep it on hand. It is called Flavacol.

You can buy it online, but I get mine from a concessionaire. It only takes a little (1 tsp) for good popcorn.

You are also supposed to cook it in coconut oil, but that is sometimes hard to come by.

A favourite as a chilf was freshly made plain popcorn coated with icing sugar (I think it's called confectioners' sugar in USA), for something a bit sweet.

And for something a bit different , another favourite childhood snack was cornflakes mixed with grated cheddar cheese. An interesting mix of crunchy and soft textures.

Butter and nacho cheese. Best. Thing. Ever.

Also, the caramel popcorn in those big tins is delicious.
