Ibanez Tremolo on a Gibson?

This question has been asked so many times.

No, you can't. You'd have to drill the cavity for the tremolo springs, buy the trem itself, drill another cavity for the bridge (unless you're top mounting it, but I don't know if you can,) then you'd have to make a shelf for the locking nut... yeah.

It's not worth the hassle. In addition to the above, you'd ALSO have to get new pickups, because the string spacing on a trem is different than the string spacing on a Tune-O-Matic.

This would cost a lot of money and take a lot of time, so realistically, this isn't possible.

Gibson does make an Explorer with a Floyd Rose on it, and you could theoretically replace that with an Ibanez ZR, but again, it'd be expensive and time-consuming.

Both are good devices if you happen to use them accurately. In case you are planning on enjoying steel then go for the ibanez. Fenders are excellent guitars however in my personal opinion you are going to be better of with the ibanez. The ibanex is less clinkyer than the strat. Ibanezs' normally have a much thicker and rich sound and for steel and that style of music it's going to work flawlessly. With the proper distortion you are going to fairly get a awesome sound out of you ibanez.
