Bilateral inguinal Hernia surgery question?
Hello, my husband had double inguinal hernia surgery 3 weeks ago, his left side is very OK and normal, the right side is not healing the same, it looks swollen and feels as if he had a roll of quarters under the surgery cut and it goes down to the testicle, Dr. says he's fine, that is blood that caused a hematoma but we're not so sure, he had mesh repair hernia surgery, fever has been on and off but Dr. says the hematoma causes a fever too, when he lays down everything is fine and the swelling is less but then when he walks for a few hours, it starts all over again with the discomfort and swelling ,..anybody out there has been in the same situation and can tell me if it will go away or not or what can he do to heal faster..thank you!!
No overweight and no diabetic, no infection, the thing is inside, the dr. says hematoma, not sure if it's that because is only on the right side.
Thanks.

I can't give you the answer that I want, but what I would do is keep a close eye on the incision (where they did the surgery) to make sure no type of infection is starting to set up. So look for any type of white/yellow drainage with an odor is the big thing, other minor things are warm, redden areas, or increased pain.
With the pain, when a person lays down or is immobile their stomach isn't working to it's full potential, but when they are up moving around their stomach is digesting, moving food, etc. So I'm GUESSING that is why he is in pain after walking for so long, his stomach isn't ready for that type of activity just yet.
May I ask one more question: Is he a diabetic or overweight?
