Creationism meets science?

Hace you ever thought about science as proving creationism? I see them hand in hand. And is an interesting topic for discussion. What do you think? Can science and creationism merge and get along?

Absolutely not. Creationism is not science at all, but a bunch of mindless dogma trying to masquerade as science. The view that, "there must be something at work here, because we don't see how it could've happened any other way", is in direct conflict with the scientific method. Science relies exclusively on direct observation, experimentation, and repetition...and nothing else. Anything outside of this is just philosophy, and not science.

To attempt to pass off creationism as science is disgusting and offensive.

There is nothing wrong with creationism and science being together. Originally there wasn't, and it only was until recently where animosity emerged. Look at Catholicism, they argue that the book of genesis is figurative (if you don't, science doesn't have much room) and the church came up with ideas such as the big bang, which is definitely supported by science, as well as religion. The idea behind it was that the universe came from a central point, that point being God, and expanded from there. From this, life either developed directly form God or indirectly, but either way, God created. From there, life could have changed. Besides, science doesn't try to explain our origins, it can't, only metaphysics even discusses our beginnings, and it is all philosophical at this point, so no, science cannot prove creationism, that's the point of belief. Evolution has nothing to do with creationism, because evolution doesn't unless there is life to begin with. Regardless, it is completely possible that God created the universe and science continued from there to make everything how it is today.

Not unless there is a very major shift in the scientific evidence available for analysis.

Science isn't about taking sides, getting along, or any of that- it's about analysing the evidence available to form the best possible conclusion. The simple fact is that the scientific evidence available to us does not support the notion of creationism being true, and there is very strong evidence available that most of the teachings of creationism are incorrect.

If there was scientific evidence to back creationism up, that would be fine, and the scientific conclusion would be that creationism is correct. But there is no such evidence.

I don’t thing so. Creationism is predominantly about faith. faith ignores facts, objectivity, reason, logic and the like if it disagrees with faith.

Science when it goes well is about facts, objectivity, reason, logic and the like. In fairness science is subject to faith and corruption just as creationist are.

Creationist are far more subject to faith and much stronger faith than scientist. Religions are a powerful tool as they profess to be the source of the divine on earth. So in essence their power base is perceptually infinite.

Faith and corruption are inevitable in any pursuit by humans. Sad but true. In both cases the majority generally consists of well intentioned individuals who do their best to do the right thing based on what they believe. They are easily led astray by the few, or individually by the promise of wealth and power. In some cases, more so in science by threat, blackmail, and the like.

on an aside. creation as generaly outlined by the creationist could have happened. No one can proove it did or did not. The time line is way off as are other elements and this has been proven. that fact tends to disqualify thier supporting documentation.

bottom line creationist have as much chance of being right in many things as the scientist do. To much money and power and control of the masses is involved so they will never get along.

The only way creationism will ever be accepted in respected scientific circles is if it's verified by the scientific method. For this to occur, evidence must be discovered that gives credence to the hypothesis that creationism is more credible than the theory of evolution by natural selection. To this date, there has been no such finding, and it's very doubtful there ever will be.

All have a scientific reason.as an example a child born not because of creationism but of male and female intercourse. a tree grows because of a chemical reaction. son rises because of rotation of earth. everything has a reason.so creationism is a myth. science has refused by church at the beginning.but by the time science inventions couldn't hide from society. as the view of Buddhism it refuses the creationism.it teaches every thing has a reason. as and example the universe is expanding. its because of big bang.not because of creationism. rain occurs not because of a wish, its a natural thing. scientifically it has an explanation. by considering the world today all the wars, natural disasters happens according to a reason. not because of someones wish. so i refuce the creationism.....(subject to discuss)
