What can I use on my dogs bad breath.?

He is a 10 year old peekapoo. After sleeping his breath is really bad. Can Hydrogen peroxide be sprayed into his mouth to kill the bacteria. If not what can I use. He is loving and likes to lick my face so I have a big problem. I love my little man (His legs are so short. My best friend.)

Update:

.

His gums and teeth look fine. None are loose. Gums are high and not shrinking. I feed moist purina food.

Update 2:

Man up. If he cant reach the itch I WILL scrath it for him so that is not aq problem

Update 3:

I also clean their glands

If you live in the US and get a Sunday Parade magazine today, please read about "myths" and the danger of using Hydrogen Peroxide for most anything, especially when it could be swallowed.

Check the molars way in the back, these are sometimes hard for an owner to see if the dog fights having his mouth help open. These are the ones that carry the worst amount of tartar, even if the teeth in front look clean. Most of the time, that's where the bad breath will be coming from.

Nothing the matter with Purina foods unless your dog has food allergies. I used it with all my puppies when I was breeding, and they all did just fine.

There are all sorts of breath enhancers available in the Pet stores that could help, however that isn't fixing the problem, only putting a "bandaid" on it. I would bet it's his teeth, especially being part Poodle and being a senior dog.

Dog toothpaste- tooth/gum problems can cause major health concerns for humans, and they can for dogs, too. But start slowly with a little toothpaste on your finger, and work your way up to using a dog toothbrush over time. Don't force the dog to get his teeth brushed, or it will be a horrible experience for both of you.

Soft foods caused my dog to lose many of his teeth so I added hard food to his diet. this scrapes the tarter off. Sometimes Imix hot water with the dry food and stir for a few minutes to let soften a little His breath is no ways as bag and Ican stand for him to lick me in the face once again

He sounds too old to chew on those raw hides (assuming his teeth are really bad). I knew someone who's dog lost some teeth just by chewing on one from being old and having icky teeth.

Get a little toothbrush and doggy tooth paste (NEVER use human tooth paste) and brush his teeth just like you'd brush yours. The dog should like the taste. c:

If using a tooth brush is difficult with him, man up and rub his teeth with your finger like I do with my dog, lol.

You might want to get his teeth checked by a vet if the breath is REALLY bad, especially because he's kinda old.

When was the last time his teeth were checked and cleaned? I think he needs a dental appointment a lot of illnesses are from bad teeth. Go have them cleaned.

bad breath is cured from the inside out - what you are feeding him is the place to start. toothpaste is a bandaid, not a cure.
