I agree, Criminals, by definition, do not obey laws. Psychotic mass murderers do not obey laws. With the proliferation of guns in the United States, if citizens were banned from owning guns, it would only be the good, law-abiding citizens who would obey the laws – precisely the people we want to have guns. Criminals would keep their guns. Psychotic mass-murderers would still find ways to acquire guns. There would simply be less people with the ability to stop or deter them.

The vast majority of gun owners in the United States of America have never harmed another human being, and never will. People use guns for hunting, for sport, or for an absolute last resort in self-defense. The fact that criminals use guns to commit crimes does not mean guns are the problem. Criminals are the problem. If all the guns in the world were taken away, criminals would find new ways to rob convenience stores, to commit muggings, to terrify people, and to commit horrible atrocities and mass-murders. No, gun control is not the answer.

Uh, criminals walk into gun shows, and load up on lots of rapid-fire weaponry and long ammo clips. Some then use them; others sell them to whoever pays them. People who have functioning brains and the least humanity realize that's not a good thing, but a bad thing.

Furthermore, criminals steal guns from the people who bought them.

And, people who wouldn't ordinarily be criminals lose their temper and use guns on loved ones, or strangers who cut them off on the road.

And, gun owners do NOT always lock everything safely away; children, drunks, and crazy people get their hands on guns that should have been locked up, and kill people.

If the guns aren't made and sold to anyone, there wouldn't be as many of them. If only the military were allowed rapid-fire weapons and long ammo clips, there would be a LOT fewer such weapons in the hands of murderers.

If the mother hadn't been able to get those guns, her son wouldn't have had access to them. Is that too complex for you to understand? That's part of the POINT. Once a gun is sold, it's impossible to prevent its being used to murder small children.

The prohibition of drugs hasn't worked. That doesn't mean that no prohibition of anything reduces that thing. In CIVILIZED countries, there aren't millions of assault rifles and long ammo clips, and those countries do NOT have mass murders every few days.

If we legalized DRUGS -- which are NOT used by their users to murder lots of people, btw, making them a different kind of case -- we wouldn't have nearly the drug-related crime we have now. It would make sense to treat the problem of drug abuse differently than we do. (BTW, abuse of prescribed meds has been sky-rocketting for quite some time.)

Guess what - it has worked in other countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Germany and virtually every civilised country in the world. The United States has higher rates of gun violence than Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and even India and the highest rates of gun ownership in the WHOLE WORLD - ie higher than Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Congo, Sudan, etc.

Those children were shot with legally purchased guns. The people in that temple - gun was purchased legally. The people in the movie theater - legally purchased guns. I don't want murderers to have any way of buying a gun either. Taking the guns out of Walmart is a good starting point.

It's better than watching more kids get shot to death. It is true that a lot of people get guns illegally like stealing them from registered gun owners or grabbing it somewhere in the house when someone else owns it legally. Adam Lanza didn't own the guns but his mother did but he took them and killed those kids. His mother just should've hid those guns away from her son. Very often people just leave them out in the house for anyone to see. You can't trust anyone, not even your own family.

look at Japan in 2008 22 people were shot dead out of all the crimes that year. 27 people most of them kids were killed in just 1 day plus the 2 people shot in a shop the same week plus the number of people shot dead in the batman theater and Sikh place of worship months ago plus all those people getting gun down by gangs all those domestic incidents people mistaking family members as burglars, guns accidentally going off. suicides, children playing with guns. how many was that ? a few thousand ? yer i am sorry but the evidence speaks for itself every country with guns laws have less crimes. no wonder why people consider the USA as the 3rd world of the rich countries
