Anybody bought a marlin model 60 rifle lately lately?

Are they as good as they were before remington took over in accuracy and quality

Update:

@Harry marlin isn't marlin anymore like Lana said they were bought out by freedom group which owns other companies like remingto h&r I believe bushmaster and a few others they are now made in Kentucky and I was wondering if they're keeping the same marlin quality

It is very sad that some conglomerate bought so many companies.

Anyway, take a chance, get a new one and see how everything works and if its good TELL everybody

and if its bad TELL everybody.

My old one works great, wouldn't trade it for any other brand.

Have a good look at one at a local store.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about in the additional details, but yes, I have a Marlin Model 60. It wasn't purchased by me, but it was bought brand new as a Christmas gift about 9 years ago and it's a pretty flat shooter out to 100 yards. The maximum effective range the gun has in my hands is about 150 yards. I'm not the best shooter, but I think 150 yards will satisfy most rimfire shooters.

The overall quality of the build and mechanics is pretty darn good. As long as I keep it cleaned and oiled every couple of thousand rounds, I don't have any problems. Even then though, when this gun shoots dirty, all I deal with is misfires and failure-to-feeds. I don't have anything so difficult that I can't clear it in under 10 seconds.

    EDIT TO ADD DETAILS:

I did a little extra google research and I get where you are going. And to answer your question, yes the rifles are just as good as before. Remington Arms owns Marlin, but besides some discrepancies about a new safety installed on their lever-rifles, Marlin is still producing the same quality rifle. It's just not in there original Connecticut facility.

Remington does not run Marlin. Both are part of the Freedom group of companies.
