So i got to thinking about next year?
and for the first time i think ever, i have no idea how it will actually go. this year i had pretty much pencilled in the hawks (while they didn't win, they were in the grand final) but this year showed how close it all was.
Could next year be the tightest contested season, it sure looks like it to me. so many sides hitting their prime at the same time (collingwood, hawthorn, geelong, west coast, adelaide, sydney, fremantle, carlton and essendon all looking dangerous)
People think writing the pies of is stupid, doing the same to the cats is just as intelligent ( as you will see both are named in the sides i listed)

Yeah mate, I have the same feeling, I think it will be really tight up the top with no obvious standout, People are talking up Hawthorn but any side My Tigers can beat by 10 don't deserve to be premiership favourites.
For the first time in years I seriously think Richmond can make the 8, with a bit of luck last year we would of made it, losing so many close games, but i think that will help in the long run, we have added depth which we haven't had at the club for years, probably since we made the preliminary final back in 2001, out last finals appearance, I have been contributing on this site since 2007, this is my 2nd account after the first one was deleted and I'm pretty sure I haven't said we'll make the finals this year, but I am saying it now.
So all the sides you named will go close but we'll be thereabouts, only to make up the numbers in the 8 this year, but could challenge in 2014 for a top 4 or 6 place.

Agree, you even have teams like Richmond who are on the rise. It's going to come down to this again, which team can stay the most healthiest. Injuries will come so thats why depth is very important and that's why i didn't like Essendon signing Goddard!. They couldn't sign a few players in a result of this, there list isn't very deep and if the same thing happens last season, with all the soft tissues they received they will have no chance. I think Brisbane could make the finals, i don't mind their roster. I think, Adelaide will make finals, but won't make top. Sydney i think will take the foot of the gas, i believe they will rest a lot of their veteran players. Collingwood look good. Geelong will make finals but get knocked out in 1st round. West Coast, could go all the way IF, they stay healthy. Fremantle will run out of legs, Carlton they will not win it but should make post season.

Geelong, prime, really? I don't think it'll be as tight as this year. I reckon wins will be so difficult down west against freo and wce. Luckily, we play freo there and wce here.
Tbh. I think hawthorn had peaked last year. I don't know if they can go again.
Thus may be arrogant. But I reckon the cup will up for grabs for wce, freo, Adelaide and collingwood. The interstate teams right now are top notch. I just can't see an all victorian GF. but I am def see an all interstate GF.
But then again you still have Carlton and essendon. And either of them could make top 4. Essendon will be dangerous.
But....most years there is a surprise packet who goes up into the 8 or top 4. Last year it was Adelaide, the year before it was wce. Who will it be this year? Richmond, north Melbourne, port, GWS!
It could be anyone really. We'll just have to wait and see!

I've been thinking about it for a while. Can't wait - could be the best season ever. There are potentially 10 sides that could be great and the season has the best potential for a long time.
I love how my team's looking, we should have our first use of the ball problems fixed and these young guys coming through - wow!
I reckon 13 teams are chances at the flag with 10 seriously hard to choose between. I like my own team's chances but I don't think there are any certain games. I don't know there are any complete write-offs in the comp next year like there have been for a few years. Even the Giants and Dees should improve.
I've paid my membership - now bring on the footy!!

It will be a close one again I think. Hawks I reckon have at least two years before things start to taper off, so I think they will be near the top of the table. I wouldn't be writing off the Cats at all, they've recruited well and so have the Pies. Of course there are the Eagles and Dockers and Adelaide. Surely it's time for Richmond to make the eight!

We've seen the lists come together, the holes plugged in probable line-ups, the coaching appointments etc and the AFL must be rubbing their hands in glee at so many clubs and their supporters believing that they have a realistic chance in 2013. No game will be a gimme and don't be surprised if % decides all spots in the final 8. Bring it on !
