Christians, which god do you serve? Jesus or the actual God?
I know I will come off as disrespectful with that statement alone, but constantly you speak of Jesus Christ as the lord and savior, Jesus being the only son of God and putting Jesus on a pedestal that make him seem like a god and not what he was, a messiah and prophet of God, and are we not all the children of God? Sons and daughters? If Jesus is the only son of God, then we're the daughters? According to the texts in the bible, Jesus is no different than Muhammad, he is a prophet of the one true God, he came to bring his word with him, and whereas he says he died for our sins, I think you can interpret that (like you interpret everything else in the bible), and not take it as literal as it says in the bible. MY interpretation is that he lead the jews, now reformed under him as a "development" of Judaism, that he lead us to see our former sins, and then we ourselves did all we could to make up for these sins. But what would you say about that? Do you have your own interpretation on it?
I will sound very disrespectful, and while I cannot word in a respectful way without sounding like some sort of asshole, which I currently also sound like. I am sorry for this, very sorry. My intention is only to get an answer on this as it baffles me, I would sound like a disrespectful asshole no matter how I said it, and I hope you can forgive me for this.

I serve Jesus Christ, the Word, God in the flesh. John 1:14, And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Isaiah 9:6 says, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." For many, this is a puzzling verse. Most people have no problem thinking of Jesus Christ as a child and a son. Some also realize that when He returns to Earth, He will also be King in control of all government. But many do not see how Jesus Christ could also be called "The mighty God, The everlasting Father".
Jesus Christ told His disciples in John 14:6-7, "... I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." Then in verse 8 Philip said, "... Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us." But Jesus Christ replied in verse 9-10, "... Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? ...."
John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." A few verses later, John 1:14 says, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." Therefore, we know that Jesus Christ is "the Word" to whom John referred in John 1:1. Even in the very beginning, there was Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ was God.
John's first epistle refers to Jesus Christ in the same way, "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life ..." (1 John 1:1). Later in this same epistle, 1 John 5:20 says, "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life."
When Thomas, who doubted that Jesus Christ had risen from the dead, reached his hand into the wounds in the hands and in the side of Jesus Christ, John 20:28 says, "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God." Notice that Jesus Christ does not correct Thomas for calling Him "my God", because Thomas was correct. Instead, Jesus Christ says in verse 29, "... because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed ...."
Paul also confirms that Jesus Christ is God. He wrote in Colossians 2:9, "For in him (Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Then in Titus 2:13, "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ ...."
In 2 Corinthians 4:4 we read, "In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
Paul also writes in 1 Timothy 3:16, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." Then in 2 Corinthians 5:19, "... God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself ...." So Jesus Christ was God manifesting Himself in the flesh, reconciling the world to Himself.
The very name "Emmanuel" implies that Jesus Christ is God. Matthew 1:23 says, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

Andy,
I consider myself a part of the "Kingdom of God" and I consider Jesus to be my King. So, my answer to your question is that I serve Jesus. However, I see no conflict between this and also being a faithful subject of the All-powerful Creator, which you refer to as the "actual God."
Jesus told that ALL his power comes from God, and that He only did what he saw God the Father doing. So Jesus' ministry was never at cross purposes with God's will. Furthermore, I accept the Gospel of John as truth and Holy Scripture, from which I learn that "The Word was with God" in the beginning during the creation of the world, and also that "The Word was God." The Gospel of John goes on to say that "the Word, which was God, became flesh and dwelled among us." It is my understanding that this means that Jesus was something more divine than an ordinary human, even though he took on human form and lived a human life.
You don't sound like an asshole to me. You explained that you find this baffling. I find it sort of baffling too, even though it is my belief. One area where you and I can agree is that the creator God is entitled to the utmost respect and obedience. Christians do not intend ANY disrespect toward God by our allegience to Jesus. Instead, we hope that God intended us to serve and follow Jesus. Indeed, I believe that only God can empower us to do so, just as Jesus said everything he did was enabled by power given to him from God. We also hope that God looks at the attitude of our hearts, and that we can be forgiven for any parts of truth that we have misunderstood. Blessings and peace on you.

You're forgiven, you know not what you do!
Jesus is Christ, our Lord and Savior. He died that we may live! There is no room for interpretation here, it is clearly written.
What differentiates Christ from Muhammed is that Muhammed was not born of God. Muhammed was not perfect and blameless before our Creator. An angel of the Lord told Joseph that Mary would birth a son without ever having been touched by man, She was a virgin and the conception of Christ was without the sin of the flesh. While we are all Gods children, only Christ was born of him.
Christ is not a god that we put before God. Christ was God himself, in human form, here on earth. Jesus is not placed before or above God, he is placed within. The trinity is the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. All of these make up one being, God our Father.
You are confused about the scripture. God never compared Jesus to Muhammed!

Read the first chapter of the gospel of John. It should clear some things up for you. Also, no we are not sons of God. As a matter of fact the Bible tells us that we are sons of the Devil before we get saved( John 8:44). You will also find John 1:29 interesting regarding the question of why Jesus came and whether or not He was just a prophet. In that verse, John the Baptist calls Him the Lamb of God. What does that mean? It means He was a Lamb to be sacrificed. Well, what would He be sacrificed for? Our sins. Galatians chapter 3 is a good one to read regarding what He offers Jews in comparison to what He offers Gentiles(us). I hope this helps. :-)

Actually, that's a variable. Some Christian sects do worship the "Trinity", the idea of "3-gods-in-one", Father/son/holy spirit, other Christian sects do worship "god" alone with Jesus as the son but not divine in his own right. So take your choice.
The lovely part of the bible is that anyone can interpret any way they want and if you cherry-pick it enough you will find the verses to support your view. That's how we got to 3,000+ sects of "christianity" all derived from the same bible.
Blessings on your Journey!

God says - we are made in the image and likeness of Him (God)! (Genesis 1:27)
So can God appear to us in the image and likeness of Himself? Of course! It is stupid to say God cannot do this.
Did God ever visit us before “disguised” as a human? Sure He has! Anyone with a High School knowledge of the Jewish Scriptures will see this.
1. Genesis 12:7-9 – God appeared to Abraham.
2. Genesis 18:1-33–One day, Abraham had some visitors: two angels and God Himself. They looked NORMAL to Abraham though. He invited them to come to his home, and he and Sarah entertained them. The Scriptures specifically says in verse 13 that God Himself was one of the visitors.
3. Genesis 32:22-30–Jacob wrestled with what appeared to be a man, but was actually God (vv. 28-30). Verse 30 specifically says Jacob saw God and wrestled with Him! (Ever see a father wrestling with his child?)
4. Exodus 3:2 - 4:17–God appeared to Moses in the form of a burning bush, telling him exactly what He wanted him to do.
5. Exodus 24:9-11–God appeared to Moses with Aaron and his sons and the seventy elders. Verse 10 specifically says they saw His feet!
I could go on and on, but there is no doubt that God can appear to us (if and when He wills) in the image and likeness of Himself – a human! We are made in His image and likeness the Torah clearly states.
That is who Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) is. God visiting us in human form for a season.
The Jewish prophet - Zechariah 12:10 states:
" They (the Jewish people) will look on me, the one they have **pierced**, and they will mourn for him..." (Zech 12:10).
God spoke those words through the prophet Zechariah. God Himself is speaking and speaks of the being the one that gets pierced.
Yet the Jewish Messiah Jesus was pierced by soldier's spear! Who was pierced, God or Yeshua (Jesus)? Since Yeshua (Jesus) is deity incarnate (God visiting us) this puzzle is solved.
God has visited us in the person of Yeshua (Jesus). That is why rejecting Him is the same a rejecting God.

Dr. Michael Brown has given definitive answers to virtually all of the arguments using Rabbinic (Talmudic) sources and a correct interpretation of scripture that even the ancient Rabbis agreed with! (Not that they believed in Yeshua, but Dr. Brown shows they understood certain passages as Messianic prophecies).

Seems like you have not read the Bible, even though you talk about "text". You should read the Gospel of John chapter 1, Hebrews chapter 1, and Colossians chapter 1 and and Phillipians chapter 2. After that get back to us. You will post something completely different, or just show a lack of reading comprehension.

they are all giving new testomony references. If jesus extremely replaced into born lower back than there should be no elect for him to be a descendent of David because he should be David's ancestor/in spite of. they imagine that he's god contained in the flesh even if the Roman empire in effortless words invented jesus purely so that they could mass administration slavery. They worship jesus reason they have an photo and by technique of purely declaring "contained in the call of jesus" on the top of a sentence will make each and every thing ok. even even if God(YAHWEH) himself stated that "each and every guy is held liable for his personal sins and no guy shall die for yet another mans sins." for those Christians to assert that we are below grace now are going antagonistic to what God advised the replaced into going to be a everlasting fact. so that you so referred to as readers of the e book elect to re re re re re study y'all observe reason for your in effortless words giving solutions that are in effortless words from the NT then stop giving solutions reason your no longer fixing something in any respect. Shalom.

Who do you think {If Jesus was just an ordinary man} gave the intense motivation to His disciples to go to the whole world and proclaim Him; Jesus had only 12 disciples, but the other had many. And now, do you think that if Jesus was just a man His religion will be the most spread one?

Well it seems you have a misunderstanding of what christians believe.....Jesus is not the same as muhammad..jesus did not force others to believe he was a prophet or the messiah....jesus never forced anyone to believe in who he was.....jesus never said they had to believe in god..or him....jesus said: " if you do not believe in me.then believe in what i do"....jesus never had people put to death because they didn't accept him as a prophet like Muhammad did....Jesus never belittled anyone...or put himself above others.....Jesus accept all who came unto him..but never forced them to believe or accept his teachings....Your misunderstanding of what jesus is.....jesus was not born of man.....in other words he was not born from the seed of man...there is a difference....as to yes we are all children of god.....but we come from the seeds of man.....christians do not put jesus on a pedestal as you say.....they call jesus lord.... .because he is the close as we can get to god from a human point of view.....and can see the working of god Thu jesus..who did things things beyonds mans own understanding...that only the power that a god could do.... Jesus came to save us from ourselves....if u understood what he meant.....As for jesus dying for our sins.......again u misunderstood what he did by dying ....God was at a point where he was going to destroy the world......and jesus was our last hope....If man failed to see jesus as the son ofgod....then that would be it for man.....but man accepted him...maybe not all.... but it did keep god from destroying the world......because jesus took all the sins that man or the world......and put it all on his shoulders......that's where he became the savior of man.....instead of worrying about why christian feel the way the do about jesus..maybe you need to look at your self ...then maybe you will understand.......If u see yourself as an asshole....then maybe u need to change your attitude about people and toward those you don't understand.....then maybe you will.....

the bible says that Jesus is the only "begotten" son of God. the rest of us, those who are his sons and daughters, are part of his family by virtue of the spirit of adoption, whereby we can call him Father.
we become adopted into his family by believing in and following his son, Jesus.
as for the way christians understand Jesus...he is part of the godhead. the bible says that he existed with God as part of God. God is a three part being....Father, Son and Holy Spirit. all three are part of God and they all work together to make up the whole being of who he is. Jesus is the son part of the godhead and he left heaven and came to earth to be born as a human baby for the sole purpose of sacrificing his life for our sin. after he rose from the dead on the third day (which totally sets him apart from muhammad or any other mere human being) he ascended into heaven and returned to sit on the throne with his Father once again. that is why christians speak of him as Lord and savior.
all of that is written in the bible.
