Christians what do you think about Jude 1:22-23 Try to help those who argue against you...?
22 Try to help those who argue against you. Be merciful to those who doubt. 23 Save some by snatching them as from the very flames of hell itself. And as for others, help them to find the Lord by being kind to them, but be careful that you yourselves aren’t pulled along into their sins. Hate every trace of their sin while being merciful to them as sinners.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoI would do more wrong (a believer's poem)?
I would do more wrong
But in my mind
And in my heart
I see a man on a cross
And he gives me life
Purging my heart of vengeance
Instantly
But removing the pain
Slowly
That I might contemplate
And move on to higher things
I forgive
I forgive even myself
And the day looks a little brighter
And there is warmth on my lips
And God moves across the waters
Of my eyes
And stirs my heart to beat
Suddenly, I breathe
In the land of the living
Arise He says
And go forth
2 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoEvolution, Creationism, or Genetic Engineering, or all 3?
I think Genesis sounds more like God interfering with evolution, with his own type of genetic engineering. Modern animals were made "after their kind" that is similar in DNA structure to their prehistoric counterparts.
Remember, in geology, about 10-12,000 years ago there was a mass extinction of life on earth during the Pleistocene-Halocene boundary. I take it then that Genesis is not an account of the creation of the earth, but an account of the restoration of the earth after some catastrophic incident occurred. For example see recent article (July 2009) Comet Killed Ice Age Beasts:
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAm I the only one having trouble navigating to the newest questions?
When you click on the question category more often than not it just brings you right back to a question you have already seen. Clickest on NEWEST / OLDEST does not work either. Is there a new set of YA navigation rules? Could anybody help? Thanks.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoNew Article: Comet Killed Ice Age Beasts. Does this give more credence to Genesis as restoration of the earth?
rather than creation of the earth account?
Some contend that Genesis is not about the creation of the earth but about the restoration of the earth after the last great mass extinction of life on the planet, some 10-12,000 years ago during the Pleistocene-Halocene boundary.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould you rather your child accept God and act good all of their life, or would you rather them reject God and?
then go to prison for life for murder or rape, and await the death penalty, all the while an atheist?
The converse of this question was asked previously. Should be interesting, if the same people answer both post.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre these valid reasons for suspending/fining or even firing D'Anton...I mean a coach?
1) Adding another side show to the circus that is the New York Knicks
2) Cursing at the fans in Madison Square Garden during your first night there
3) Creating another he said she said situation by not simply calling the guy's number during the game. Call the guy's number, then we can all see for ourselves what happens.
4) Not committed to winning games NOW. Once the season started he refused to put the best set of players on the court, even when the team was losing. Paying fans expect more than that from a coach. I think he even surprised the upper management with this one. Now Walsh had to get involved and will get embarassed when the league turns the fine over.

.... hey fellas, I just joking....but that is one crazy commercial.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoBy E=MC², from Einstein's relativity, it takes more power to create a rock than to move it right?
Since the answer is affirmative, doesn't this render the "can God make a rock he can't move?" question illogical, for purposes of disproving God's omnipotence.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAs a Christian myself, I would like to know why you think Obama is the anti-christ?
Please give the scripture references that you are basing this on. In all honesty it seems rather ridiculous. Seems to me that the Obama-bashing Christians here are making Christianity look bad. If I am wrong show me with scriptures. Otherwise you are just showing your negative side, dare I say sinful side, and on top of that you are looking hypocritical. Enlighten me ....please.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoD'Antoni first game at the Garden and already cursing the fans?
http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/nba
First you beat last year's worst team by five points on your own court, then you lose by 29 points tonight. And given the history of Madison Square Garden, he has the nerve to come in here and curse the fans on opening night?
7 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoD'Antoni?.....Knick Fans, time to wake up?
D'Antoni not playing Marbury and Curry? It's just playing games and being unprofessional. First you allow them to play during the pre-season and then as soon as the season starts, they sit? All D'Antoni has created is instant stress on the team, instant chaos. Coming off a win over the Heat, after the team almost completely lost a 23 point lead and allowed last year's last place team to score 40 points in the 4th quarter, D'Antoni is patting himself on the back too much. Now Phillie comes to town to set in the reality of what the Knicks season could really be like.... losing by about 30 points. How many 30 point losts before the Garden gets ugly. They think they can sit back and talk about rebuilding for the next 2 or 3 years, but this is New York, baby. D'Antoni can be booed just like anyone else. Sure run and gun like Phoenix, and play no defense just like Phoenix. The NY Knicks defensive basketball gods like Frazier and Ewing and Red Holtzman (rest in peace) must be wondering what kind of Knick team this will be.
As for Marbury and Curry, they are players, and if they are in shape and on the team, then play them. Why play little children games? If you are a great coach, then prove it by coaching these difficult players. Phil Jackson would have done it. Jordan was able to get Rodman to play. Is D'Antoni getting paid to coach, or to be petty? Season before last, Marbury was like number two in assists in the league, so what the hell do you mean he can't pass? In any event, he will make his 20+ million, then go to Italy and play, followed by a host of other NBA players. Only a matter of time before the number one college player in this country decides to go there too. I wish the NBA would be more about balling and less about the damn business.... and fans, players are people too. The newspapers and media makes a monster out of a guy like Marbury, but in his personal life he is loved by family and friends and thousands of kids, 11,000 that attend his basketball touraments. He even gave a donation of millions of dollars to NY City workers last year, but you did not hear much about that, nor about the thousands of pairs of sneakers he gave to kids:

9 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoCare to flow the crazed random river with me?
Wanted to write something for Yahoo Poetry
No matter how I tried nothing would flow with me
So I sit here writing from the top of my head
And everything I've thought is what you just read
Should I turn to the left or turn to the right
Write a song with a G-clef or just call it a night
Those last two lines are a bit of nonsense
Writing about nothing, can nothing be condensed
Can condensed nothing be considered something
quantized particles add up to sum thing
I'm just a bum, sing about the crumbling
Mumbling I stumble, in words I'm tumbling
Spiraling, have you caught on to the craziness yet
Idle mind digesting the trash can diet
Discarded files and deleted prose
Jack Frost dripping at my nose
A rose is a rose, I suppose by any other name
It would be as sweet, is that a trick or treat
There's no pattern, there's no beat
I have defied my own purpose, defied my cause
Now at loss, randomness is my boss
Which way will the wind blow
Does any calculating brain know
No, so I shall drift as in a dream
Only for pastel mists to turn into red hot steam
And awaken with screams from the night
Being unable to wake up from reality is fright
Tell me are you bored, lackadaisical of your trivial pursuit
Then add some more lines, so I can go mute
3 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoIs this a good reason why "can God create a rock he can't lift?" is an illogical question?
First of all the question assumes that a rock is heavy because of its mass. Science tells us that an object's weight is determined by the gravitational field it is subject to.
Thus a 600 pound rock on earth, weighs 60 pounds on the moon, and zero pounds in the great emptiness of outer-space. If there was rock that weighted a trillion pounds on earth, even I could move it in outer-space!
The truth to the matter is that in our universe there can never be a rock too heavy to move, thus to even propose it in a question is illogical.
"What do you say to that Mr. Spock?"
"Fascinating."

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDO YOU HAVE PROOF...THAT 1+1=2...OR JUST FAITH?
Based on the web sites below, I doubt that many have proof. Is this another example of how all knowledge begins with faith? Is it true that scientists must have faith that the universe is inherently orderly, even though there is no law or theorem that says it must be? Otherwise why waste their time?
...As a lover of Christ, science and mathematics I am quite used to faith AND reason.
