Are these valid reasons for suspending/fining or even firing D'Anton...I mean a coach?

1) Adding another side show to the circus that is the New York Knicks

2) Cursing at the fans in Madison Square Garden during your first night there

3) Creating another he said she said situation by not simply calling the guy's number during the game. Call the guy's number, then we can all see for ourselves what happens.

4) Not committed to winning games NOW. Once the season started he refused to put the best set of players on the court, even when the team was losing. Paying fans expect more than that from a coach. I think he even surprised the upper management with this one. Now Walsh had to get involved and will get embarassed when the league turns the fine over.

Update:

...tonight's defense absent victory will be forgotten when the Knicks lose to Portland, Cleveland and Atlanta this week. They need Stephon to hang around this week so that they will have someone to blame....

    4. No - The Knicks obviously don't want Marbury and thus they're not playing him.

He'll build a team that will make early playoff exits year after year like all of his other teams, like Nelly's teams, like Doug Moe's teams, like Rick Adelman's teams etc. You can't win NBA championships playing D'Antoni ball and he can't coach any other style. He couldn't win with the most talented team in the league because what makes you think he will do anything but hurt their draft position for the next few years? The guy is a bum and the way he's handled the Stephon situation makes him an even bigger bum, it was bush league. The way he and Donnie Walsh have run this team this season is what is going to prevent the Knicks from signing a big time free agent. They'll be left with a bunch of cap room and a 35 year old Steve Nash. No big time player, who is currently on a playoff team is going to leave that team to join the big top circus that is the Knicks.

I think that Marbury should've asked for a trade, period. I mean, come on, we're not talking about a star player here. Marbury has always been a cancer to most teams he's been to, so it's only natural that he would cause a stir in New York. Walsh's problem is not addressing it early and letting D'Antoni handle it by himself.

And contrary to what NY fans may say: Donnie Walsh can handle the situation with the Knicks and he's pulled off some good deals in the past for the Pacer organization.

No. That's all apart of the change that needed to happen. I'm against cursing at ppl, especially fans, but sorry to say those fans deserved it. Give the man some time. He will build that franchise up in the next couple of years.
