I would do more wrong (a believer's poem)?

I would do more wrong

But in my mind

And in my heart

I see a man on a cross

And he gives me life

Purging my heart of vengeance

Instantly

But removing the pain

Slowly

That I might contemplate

And move on to higher things

I forgive

I forgive even myself

And the day looks a little brighter

And there is warmth on my lips

And God moves across the waters

Of my eyes

And stirs my heart to beat

Suddenly, I breathe

In the land of the living

Arise He says

And go forth
