New Article: Comet Killed Ice Age Beasts. Does this give more credence to Genesis as restoration of the earth?

rather than creation of the earth account?

Some contend that Genesis is not about the creation of the earth but about the restoration of the earth after the last great mass extinction of life on the planet, some 10-12,000 years ago during the Pleistocene-Halocene boundary.

The bible was written in the Middle East, not North America. How could the death of animals and the human population caused by a comet impact in Canada possibly have influenced the religion of people they can't possibly have had any contact with 5,000 miles away. Any one that actually supports this idea is a complete idiot.

lol, no. The Genesis story is simply not true. It is a myth. It has always been a myth. It will always be a myth. If you want to know about our origin, learn about evolution.

You creationists need to learn that no matter how hard you try to twist science to your advantage, you will always fail. Unfortunately, that will take a while. As comedian Ron White so tactfully put it, "You can't fix stupid."

Did this comet hit 6000 years ago?

No. So it doesn't fit. It's time to let go of the Bible being anything other than metaphorical.

    No.Absolutely not.

Genesis is stories and fables made up by shepherds to explain what was to them inexplicable. It belongs in the same category is any other creation stories.

I'm sorry but that has nothing to do with "genesis" which is not based in and on fact. It is an origin myth, and rather a bland one.

Why is science turning into gossip journalism?

(Hint: publishing an article in the tabloids does NOT constitute peer review! Yahoo! is so strongly biased that they can in no way be considered a legitimate source of information.)

The issue is still throny because many species *did* survive the impact, including humans.

    *drink*

Got some news for ya there Sparky, mankind was here before that, in lots of places around the globe.

Stop trying to give legitimacy to the bible using twisted science.

No, genesis is clearly supposed to be the creation story.

It's a pity there's not one single bit of physical evidence that all life died out, then was re-created in a single week.
