New Article: Comet Killed Ice Age Beasts. Does this give more credence to Genesis as restoration of the earth?

The bible was written in the Middle East, not North America. How could the death of animals and the human population caused by a comet impact in Canada possibly have influenced the religion of people they can't possibly have had any contact with 5,000 miles away. Any one that actually supports this idea is a complete idiot.
