"The use of WMD can never be justified." What do you think?

Weapons of Mass Destruction should never be used. To kill people just to do it is far from humane, and we cannot allow it to happen. NO

And you think the N Korean or Iran will sign that accord?
WMD are truthfully a deterrent. No one wants to launch one when they know another country has enough to literally wipe their nation off the face of the Earth. Plus you have the issue of all other countries looking at you as a pariah.
At this point and time.... no nation...including my own...can be trusted not to push the button.

I agree
what is the point of having a war if everyone and everything is destroyed and dead?
Despite all the negativity of war, a war's purpose should never be to kill the enemy, but rather to win something from the enemy
land
respect
freedom
that's what makes the military different from a gang of killers
edit: about that comment about saving lives in the long term, it's moronic, Japan only worked because we were the only country with atomic weponds
in today's age, if we were to use such weponds again, it would open pandora's box

It can be justified if it saves more lives in the long run. The 2 Atomic bombs killed a lot of people in Japan in 1945, but when you compare the number they killed to the 1 million estimated deaths if the US had invaded (due to Japan's refusal to surrender) and had to take over the country, then the bombs were the lesser of 2 evils.

If it would save my country, it's citizens and my family. I would use every WMD in the US arsenal.

According to many conservatives, we have the absolute right to arms. WMD's are arms, so I wonder why my right to own (and use!) a WMD is being infringed.

the key effect of chemical weapons is denying the territory and freedom of maneuver to the enemy.
the other means to achieve that, are landmines and/or bodybags coming home because those soldiers died defending undefendable.
which do you prefer?
