Would the gun haters have preferred that Lanza have entered the school with a hammer?

The fact of the matter is that mass murderers use guns. They don't use hammers. They can get guns and it's easy to kill people with them. That is why we need a more honest discussion about this issue. groups like the NRA do nothing to promote dialogue. Until we accept that the answer to gun violence is not more guns, we are going ot go nowhere and the pro-gun interest groups will do nothing to help prevent this carnage. To argue that it would have been more gruesome with a hammer is simply naive.

Yes, I'm sure they would have preffered a hammer to a gun. He wouldn't have been able to hold them all hostage while he killed them one by one over several hours.

You are in no position to talk about a need for "sense" as you clearly have none.

Had he entered with a hammer, or three hammers, there would likely be NO dead and at most one.

I don't hate guns only when it is not in the wrong hands. But let not forget CERTAIN TYPES OF MENTAL HEALTH AND GUNS don't mix very well, or CERTAIN TYPES OF PEOPLE WITH CERTAIN TYPES OF MENTAL HEALTH AND GUNS DON'T MIX. IT just like medication and alcohol don't mix very well together, drinking and driving don't mix and last of all different types of chemicals don't mix well together at all.

Don't forget NOT all people with mental health will do this kind of thing at all. Like people with anxiety disorder, some are worrywart on things that are not that bad or it will not happen like they think it might or the chances, like what are the chances a airline will have to land in the middle of sea right away, and it very far from land. Because of a hard to find engine problem(of what connects to what) that is happening in mid flight, and the closes airport is some what far away. Should pilot take the chance and to get there. People with anxiety disorder also don't like one on one that much like job interviews, in college where there is teacher's office hours, don't like speech class(because of having to speak in front of the class) serious problem might have to face, like having to talk to a person to fix up a problem(like at the bank, roof repair and home theater problem). There are other other types of mental health problem but that just one kind. Ask a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychiatric Social Worker and Psychiatrist working in mental health they will tell you not all with different types of mental health are like that.

An example of a person with three kinds of mental health problems that is not like that, is Howie Mandel. He has Obsessive–compulsive disorder(OCD), mysophobia (an irrational fear of germs) and Attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He takes meds for them, and sees a Psychiatrist. His wife and young adult kids have come to understand and live with him with those mental health problems. Howie Mandel would never have problems, and want to kill or hurt the people on the shows he host or is a judge.

The President and Senators should look into mental health and not just gun laws, it like drinking and driving don't mix and certain types of chemicals don't mix well together at all. But they CAN'T just say out right that mental health is bad in general and not look at the different types and try to understand them. The President can use Howie Mandel as the poster person or speaker on what not bad and to understand mental health if he wants. But in the end it up to Howie Mandel do he want to do that.
