Except for a belief of Christ, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is nothing like the Jehovah Witness church.

The LDS church believes that the true church & authority to act in the name of God was lost and had to be restored. We believe the priesthood was restored through Joseph Smith. We like Christmas!

JW was founded through a group of Bible study people. They don't celebrate Christmas. They believe there will only be 144,000 that will be in heaven with God. I wonder if this is a problem since they have 7.65 million members.

They are pretty different from each other. Both believe in Jesus, and that he's God's son, and they both use the Bible. But then Mormons have the Book of Mormon, which JW's do not accept as scripture from God. And Mormons have quite a few extra beliefs because they believe that Christianity started falling into apostasy and there needed to be a "restoration" of the church. And they believe that Joseph Smith was called to be the prophet to restore the church and translate extra books of scripture that had never been discovered until then. Jehovah's Witnesses haven't really added on any extra beliefs and don't have any other books besides the Bible. They do interpret some things in the Bible differently than most of mainstream Christianity though which is why many Christians see them as "different" like the Mormons, and debate on whether or not they should be considered Christian.

A great difference! There's about as much difference between Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses as there is between Mormons and mainstream christians.

It is not fair or accurate to compare Mormons with Jehovah's Witnesses. The *only* peculiar trait they have in common is that they bring their message to people's homes. Everything else about them is very different.

properly, Jehovah's Witnesses trust in common words what's taught contained in the Bible. that is unique between the three. As regards a soul, Genesis 2:7 identifies what a soul is. "God proceeded to form the guy out of dirt from the floor and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the guy got here to be a residing SOUL." It by no skill says a soul replaced into an upload-on, yet a human turns right into a residing soul. maximum all the thousand or so translations now in use agree that is the perfect translation. Now the different 2 religions have their personal dreamed up innovations of what the soul is. yet that is what the Bible itself teaches. Can the soul die or is it immortal? back going to the Bible at Ezekiel 18:4, ". 4 look! each of the souls—to me they belong. because the soul of the daddy so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul it really is sinning—it itself will die." Repeating, "The soul it really is sinning—it itself will die." it isn't immortal, wonderful round bothering the residing. alongside with this, the question of do all people sin? This too should be replied. Romans 5:12 does reply. "it really is why, basically as through 1 guy sin entered into the international and demise through sin, and therefore demise spread to all adult men because they'd all sinned—." that is the reason all of us die inspite of all efforts. Inherited sin handed down from Adam. considering that that is what the Bible teaches, that is what Jehovah's Witnesses trust. you hit upon the others all get their innovations from pagan religions like hellfire and souls being eternal as ghosts. in truth, it really is the position they're starting to be maximum of their teachings. each of the holidays come from there relabeled. except Easter, which they stole from pagans without replacing some thing. there are countless different issues diverse. This in common words hits the extreme factors, which could comprise using God's personal call translated into English as Jehovah or Yahweh. The Bible tells us to apply that call and declare it as Jesus did at John 17:4-5. the different religions attempt to conceal it, bury it as a lot as they could. data is got here across contained in the KJV of 1611, the single maximum people have of their homes. There the divine call is used 4 circumstances. (Exodus 6:3; Psalm 80 3:18; Isaiah 12:2; 26:4. ) yet contained in the Revised KJV, it really is scratched out fullyyt. it really is faux religions doing that.

One big one is that Mormons are very actively trying to promote good Christian morals through the political process, JW's on the other hand take a back seat, and are just along for the ride.

Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.

Jehova's witness are more likely to interrupt your dinner, where mormons are more likely to have to go back home because they forgot their magic underwear.

Mormons believe that God was once a mortal, didn't create the universe, and that they will become Gods upon their death.

Jehovah Witnesses believe that the trinity is wrong, the world will end in 1914, and that only 144,000 people will make it into heaven.

Basically, they are just two different levels of crazy.

Mormons are usually suited clean cut gay looking young men with American accents and man bags.

Jehovah's witnesses are usually rag bag middle aged or elderly locals with the fanatics glint in their eye.

    Both types talk bollocks.
