It will be closer to a democracy when the whip system in parliament is abolished and members have anonymous electronic voting as they do in certain more advanced countries.

You are confusing two words .
The UK is a constitutional monarchy, not a republic. The queen is a symbolic head of state but without political power.
Uk government is elected (democratically) by people using their vote in a general election which after counting gives whoever has the most votes the right to form a government. with the title of "prime minister". with the rest of the government being called MPs (member of Parliament), this form of government is truly democratic because it allows for any number of political parties to participate in elections with only really discredited one being banned.
Republics can be any form of political government democratic or even dictatorships, it just means that the head of state for the country is called a" president " who is either voted for in general elections or imposed by political decree. Republics can have exactly the same type of government has the UK or different ones, it just depends on the politics of the country .

The UK a democracy? Don't make me laugh. It uses an outmoded 'first past the post' electoral system where a candidate can be, and is, elected with 30% of votes cast. 70% voting against yet being inflicted with someone with 30% is NOT democracy.
To be a true democracy we need proportional representation. That is each party standing gains the seats for its percentage of votes cast.
The old-gang LibLabCon parties are against this democratic voting system because it would cost them money...ie seats...
The old-gang are all in it for the money, simple.
