Armed guards in the schools?
What do we do if a library is attacked next? What about playgrounds, churches, hospitals? Theaters, ball fields, and summer camps? Where does the insanity end? Do you want to trade your liberty to live a peaceful life for the so-called "right" to own handguns and assault weapons? Wake up America! My right to life, liberty and the persuit of happiness is more sacred than your right to own a "Bushwacker".

If you like your freedoms so much, I wouldn't be so fast to disarm the American public. They are being taken away at an alarming pace... and that's WITH a government that fears armed citizens.
"Our" government has been treasonously helping "globalists" rob us blind, they'd love to take our guns and protect the guilty... control us more easily as things get worse and more people figure out who's to blame... Some of these shootings are pretty darn suspicious, with 2nd shooters being reported and then nothing from the press, etc... Parents high up in the military... high up in GE (practically part of the government)... Shooters are mental patients who could have been brainwashed....
Sometimes freedom is a little less safe. But, there are governments who disarm their citizens and start killing everybody. That would be far worse and I do not trust "our" government. Sorry, just can't.
I think we need to start allowing honest citizens to start carrying everywhere. These zones where crazies know for sure nobody has a weapon to fight back with are a huge problem. Also, every single shooter seems to be on the SSRI antidepressants. Maybe we should look at that. Prozac got a horrible reputation for causing violence early on... and now the number of people on the new flood of similar drugs is astounding.

Political pendulums swing, the percentage of gun owners in this country is going down. The most rapidly growing demographic groups are more sympathetic to gun control than gun ownership rights and the more gun violence, the more people turn away from gun ownership rights.
We will have gun control in this country. The tide of history tells us that as nations grow more modern and industrial they embrace gun control. We are an anomaly. that will change; the only questions are whether it will be a balanced approach or a more extreme approach. The more resistance there is, the more violence there is, the stronger will be the eventual political backlash. It's only a question of time and accumulated carnage, the sooner we enact effective gun control, the better for everyone.
The extreme approach will be a movement to ban personal ownership of guns. and we will end up there if we don't get somewhere effective first.

Concealed handgun permits for law abiding citizens, including teachers, preachers, whomever, is the answer. The "insanity" ends when the shooter is dead. There is a reason our forefathers put the Second Amendment in our Constitution. It was to protect us from tyrannical government, as well as others who want to do harm to our kids and others. When a lunatic knows there might be the possibility that he will be looking down the barrel of a gun he might just change his mind. When a government starts taking weapons away from law abiding citizens, we are all in trouble.

@terry... You must be basing that amswer on your own views and hopes rather than reality...american gun owmership is the highest it's ever been and not slowing down..gun sales spiked once obama was elected... after he was reelected they rose another 20% amd now they're proposing a ban... up again.. you are way oiut of touch if you think gun interest and ownership is on the decline...
