Stay in contact with neighbors or relatives so you can check on each other, keep your cell phone charged up. Make sure you have enough non-perishable easy-to-fix food & drinking water, warm clothes, blankets, fill the car with gas, have a back-up plan in case the power fails (flashlights, fresh batteries, emergency heater, etc.). My friend was without electricity for 5 days several years ago when we had an ice storm, he had some little LED lights that used 9-volt batteries that he kept on the hallway floors to guide a path to the bedroom. I use candles in my fireplace when the power goes out, got plenty of candles and they are safe to use all night long, give the living room a nice glow at night. Also have a wind-up lantern with a radio & a cell phone charger, and if the wind is not too bad can cook on the barbecue grill in the backyard. Have some ice melt for when the snow melts & freezes outside your door.

Supplies. I would think that having adequate medications that are taken is a must. Enough can food and water for at least a week in case the power goes out. If you haven't purchased good quality winter unders, better get them that fit to replace the old ones that don't. Dog & cat food for the pets. If you have a generator that has not been fired up in a while, best to fire it up to make sure it is in running order. Charge up that cellphone & keep it charge. Check your Flashlights & get some fresh batteries. Candles are always worth having. Even here in SoCA - the power was down for about 30 mins and the wife got out the old kerosene lamp which worked for her - I was out of the house.

Is the firewood dry enough? Should be but if its not, it will be a problem.

I do not have to worry about this since it is rarely ever cold enough to use the fireplace in SoCA. Its more decoration & atmosphere than for heating.

A knit cap, warm sox and woolen gloves are also worth having around. Both for going out & if the chill gets too indoors.

    Good luck... Merry Christmas everyone!!

Before the snow falls, be sure you have enough food, tea, hot chocolate, flashlight batteries, and anything else you may need. Get out your boots, snow shovel, a bag of rock salt or other ice-melting product, and a broom for brushing snow off your car.

Build a fire in the fireplace. Make a big pot of stew or soup in the slow cooker. Bake a cake or a batch of cookies/biscuits. Lay a nice warm throw and a pillow in your favorite chair. Put your book and the TV remote on the table beside your chair. Take the dog out, bring him back in, and put his cushion near the fireplace. Charge your cell phone.

You can't prevent the storm, so when it hits, let yourself enjoy the hush and beauty of it.

Be safe. Don't go out unless you have to.

Before the sow starts, be sure you havave enough food and drink to hold ou over till it's gone. Get some extra non-perishables "just in case". Be sure you have emergency numbers you may need where you can find them. Have candles or oil lamps ready in case electricity fails. Have extra warm blankets in case heat fails. If you're lucky enough to have a fireplace, stock up on wood. Get enough of your medication to keep you healthy through the storm. Then be prepared to stay in, do not vrnture out until it's safe. You might get some salt to clean off your sidewalks. Be sure your car is gassed up, has enough antifreeze, and all other systems ready to go. Then sit back and wait it out. God bless you all.

Hmmm... I Suggest Chainmail, Shield & Axe, If You cant Get Hold Of Any Of Them Try Riot Gear. Note: These Itms Are Useless At A Slayer Venue, Fatality Level Is EXTREME. Good Look Man...

In case of electrical outage, make sure flashlights, candles, warm clothes and blankets are readily available. Put some containers of water in freezer now so if the fridge goes off, the containers of frozen water will melt for drinking. And most importantly ensure the safety of your animals with shelter, food, and water.

  • We stocked up with food and stay inside..we are expecting the blizzard like storm to head here tonight, it is already getting really cold out now. I was so hoping for the mild winters like last year!.

Same ways as always. Try to stay off the roads. Have enough necessary supplies on hand.

Go to Florida for the winter! ☺ If that's not possible make sure you have food, water and warm blankets in the house until the storm is over.
