Crafty Moms help! Looking for a gift project for a 4 year old?
Hi! Looking for some crafty mom help :)
I would like my son to make something for family members (grandparents, aunts, etc.) As a Christmas present and needvsome ideas (and maybe instructions LOL)
Requirements are : Must be simple enough a 4 year old can do Most of the work and cost less than $5 each. Food projects are fine but it would be nice if he could wrap them like real presents.
Thanks for all the help!

I saw something on Pinterest that was really cute.. If you go to the dollar store and buy just plain white plates or mugs and have your child draw on them with sharpies and then put them in the oven at 350 degrees for like 10-15 mins then it becomes permenent and he can wrap them up. Totally personal gift!

My nephews are 4 and 6 and this year
For the Grand parents they painted a picture on poster board with finger paint and I bought a nice frame from the Dollar store and put the pictures in them. Then the kids wrapped them.
For their aunts they got mugs with a packet of Hot chocolate.
Nickelodeon SpongeBob SquarePants Hot Cocoa Mug Set (each aunt got 1 cup)

It was cheaper to buy that way then to buy each a different mug and Hot chocolate
They opened the box and put 1 mug in another small box that i had and put the cocoa in the cup then wrapped them each.
For uncles we made gift baskets
Baskets we got from Dollar store
in them we included
Home made sugar cookies the kids frosted and decorated
Box of Cheese Nips
Pringles
Planters Mixed Nuts

My girls are 3 and 5 and we try to do homemade gifts every year. some ideas:
-jewellery (simple large wooden beads on string)
-wooden picture frames, painted and decorated by your child, with a pic of them in it
-jewellery box - you can buy one from a craft store, just plain wood, and paint and decorate it
-pencil holder - we took an old David's Tea tin and covered it with scraps of fabric and mod podged it
-a hand-drawn picture, framed with popsicle sticks that your child glues together
-baked goods - put them in a basket or christmas tin
EDIT - we did a similar thing to the coffee mugs, but we did wine glasses. The girls painted on them with glass paint and we put them in the oven for 30 minutes to dry. Very popular gift!
