  • Washer and dryer in bedroom, is it still considered a bedroom in a house assesment.?

We have a small bedroom that we are thinking of converting to a laundry room area- so open washer and dryer and possibly a utility sink. By doing this, would we loose a bedroom on the house assessment? Is it worth a loss of a small bedroom to gain a laundry room. It would be the difference of a 5 bedroom vs. 4 bedroom home. We are in Delaware if that matters. Thank you

  • Taxes - still being processed?

I submitted early, Probably the 27th or so. They found I had typed one of 3 kids social security number wrong. I fixed it resubmitted on the 3rd. Received that the IRS accepted immediately (20 minutes) and is sitting being processed ever since. We do standard deduction which I did ourselves using H&R block free file for federal. A friend of mine filed Thursday the 6th doing itemized with mortgage documents and etc, and the IRS has already approved it and given her a money release date of the 17th or earlier.

should I be concerned that there is something wrong with my return? I didn't claim anything but the kids and myself. No EIC credit it anything. I am really confused how hers was pushed through so fast and mine just sits mocking me.

Any input why a return submitted after mine is approved before mine?

    Thank you!

  • Can someone explain USPS regional boxes?

I feel like an idiot but the post office's website didn't explain anything. I am use to using flat rate boxes. What I am shipping seems to be just too big for a large flat rate box and the CHEAPEST option when I went to the post office was $27!! I see a regional box would be $15 to ship the same thing. I am trying to ship from East Coast to West Coast of that helps. Can I get the regional boxes at the post office? I didn't see them at my local one.. But there is a bigger one that isn't too far. I am just looking for ANY cheaper shipping option. So any other solutions would be good too. UPS and FedEx online quote was similar in price. Thank you!!

  • How much is too much homework?

In KINDERGARTEN, my son has this for his weekly homework:

    Front and back worksheet Monday-Friday

    Speech homework (usually 2 worksheets)

Vocab exercises 3 nights (write words 3 times each, alphabetical order, etc)

15 minutes of reading with logs

Book report with pictures and a paragraph about the book.

I think this is an insane amount of homework for a 5 year old in full day Kindergarten. Is this an average amount? I read somewhere that too 2nd grade it should be no more than 10 minutes of homework. Ha! Its more like an hour - 1 1/2 hours of fighting with my son to do everything. Not how I want to spend the few hours a day I get with him.

Also, is there anything I can even do about it? Or is it just going to be a long school year?

  • Amazon customer vote- gone?

Is Amazon doing the customer vote thing this year? Where you vote for which item you want more and then you may get a chance to get that item for a super deal price? If they are doing it, could someone post a link? I can't seem to find it.

  • Laundry help! Bay water dingy?

Okay, I am usually decent at getting out stains but my kids bathing suits are extremely dingy from swimming in bay water at the beach. The white mesh is brown! I have obviously washed with extra detergent but it didn't do anything.

I have them soaking in detergent, baking soda, dish soap, and some multi purpose cleaner. Usually gets the usually mess out but its not doing anything.

Any secrets out there?? I have heard of peroxide but the last time I tried that it made the stains worse??

Ps. All out of borax / oxy clean and the stores are closed now.

    Thanks for any help! :)

  • Vomiting blood during third trimester?

I am about 8 months pregnant with my 3rd baby and have been getting horrible heartburn & indegestion - especially late at night no matter how little or bland the food to the point I start vomiting. Twice now (2 nights in a row) I have thrown up globs of blood - mostly more brownish in color with some lighter blood streaks. I had the same situation with my second pregnancy and when I brought it up with my old ob he simply shrugged his shoulders and moved on. Sure enough the problem ceased after I gave birth. Its the weekend and I wont be able to contact my new ob til monday. Is this something I should be concerned about. I feel pretty normal otherwise. My blood pressure has remained low and was 120 / 80 just 3 days ago.

  • At what temperature does it become a problem with a fever in a 3 year old?

Last night my 3 year old son woke at 1 am with a fever of 103.6°. I gave him some tylenol and put a cool rag on his head. I noticed he was kind of shaking as he drank the tylenol. I checked again about a half an hour later and his fever spiked to 105.1°. I immediately put him in a shower for about a half an hour which pulled his temperature to 101°. About an hour later it climbed back to 103°. He finally fell sleep around 4:30. He woke in the morning and acted like his normal self. He has been staying about 100-101° all day, until an hour ago. He is now 102°. I gave him some tylenol and he ASKED to go to bed. - NOT normal. I am not one to panic or run to the doctor, but seeing 105.1° on the thermometer did kind of scare me. At what temperature should I start to "worry" or seek medical help?

  • Has anyone flown with a toddler?

Especially lately with the new rules? We are taking an 7-8 hour plane trip cross country with my son who will have just turned 2 for the trip and was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions or tips for the plane ride? Things to keep them occupied? Ways to get the car seat through the airport? Can we bring our own juice cup and snacks with the new regulations? Any advice and wisdom is greatly appreciated!

  • What brand of diapers do you prefer?

Has anyone tried the babies r us diapers? Are they any good? I've read some reviews but they were from years ago.. so I was wondering if anyone has tried them lately? We have been a die hard Pampers fan, but they are so expensive I would love to find a cheaper equivalent. We tried Luvs and they are okay for day time.. didn't "Luv" them. We tried Huggies... works great for my friend's little girl, didn't work so great for my son, which I have heard to be the case. Any other good brands? Costco, Bj's brands? Has anyone tried the new Target brand - I received some as a shower present and never used them because of how flimsy but I heard they have improved?

There are days when I feel like I can't get anything done. So I was wondering what was your secret to getting things accomplished? My son usually DEMANDS my attention, any tricks or activities that you use. My son is 19 months old.
