Having strange, violent dreams?

Periodically, I will have violent dreams. Most of which are directed towards my ex boyfriend. I find myself so angry with him that I jump on his back, and beat the Mickey out of him. Scratch his eyes out, break his expensive belongings, punch him over and over again.

The thing is, there's no blood involved. In fact, when I hurt him, he seems barely phased by it. It just gets me angrier, so I hit harder. The next thing I know I'm waking up with tears streaming down my face.

It's kind of exhausting, and emotionally damaging sometimes. We had a messy messy break up, and haven't spoken since.

These dreams are expressing the anger you have not yet worked through after your breakup. This emotional venting is one of the basic purposes of dreaming, and allows you to express feelings, like this rage, that you can't express safely in reality.

But if Zia Lucia might say so, you seem to need some help in working through these feelings. Experiencing rage after a messy break up is neither unusual or a sign of weakness, but lots of us need help when too much emotional stress piles up inside. You deserve to take care of yourself simply for your own health, or simply because you need to get some good sleep! Trust your old Zia Lucia, you are NOT the first woman to feel this way. So find someone wise and caring to help you work through this anger. You are worth the effort.
