Is it possible to cut yourself on your arm really deep, like to the bone, and not need stitches?

I'm reading this book where, to see if the people are androids or not, they have to cut their arm to the bone and they never need stitches. Are there spots on your arms where you can do that? If so, where? I'm just suuuper curious about this lol thanks guys.

uhm i am not a doctor so don't take these from me but haha.

it depends where you were to cut yourself. and if the wound more than 1/4 inch (6 mm) deep you'd have to get stitches i am pretty sure, it wouldn't heal on it's own.

    my mum's a nurse so.
