How do I get rid of the CD Drive *ON* my flash drive?

I have a SanDisk Cruzer USB flash drive that I got from my roomate & whenever I plug it in my laptop reads the USB as 'Drive G' & also pops up "CD Drive U3 System" as 'Drive E'.

I've already formatted the USB drive & the "CD Drive" still pops up when I plug the USB in. How do I stop this from happening?

Thanks for any & all info!

I cannot speak for that particular unit. But some have multiple partitions on them like a regular hard drive. You can perhaps use a partition tool to remove it. If it's set aside like a partition formatting the drive only formats the one you use, your drive G. However, some of these are hard coded in the device and they cannot be changed. You can also check if the maker has a utility to make that go away. It might seem counterproductive but they offer such a thing because so many people hate it when they do that. Yet they keep doing it because they want you to use whatever software is on there.
