Why are my Windows 7 screens jumping between my monitors?

Just got a new Dell Latitude E5430 laptop with Windows 7. I have two monitors in addition to the built in laptop monitor. I am also using a USB keyboard instead of my built-in laptop keyboard. I am finding that more often than not when I press the 1, 2, or 3 keys my active window will jump to another monitor (I think it also does it when pressing those buttons with the shift key but I am not sure since it happens when I least expect it). I had researched shortcut keys online and disabled my Windows key hoping that it would stop this but the problem has persisted. Now I am wondering if it has something to do with my USB keyboard and how it works with the laptop. The jumping screens have only happened when using the USB keyboard but to be fair, I haven't done extensive testing of using my built in laptop keyboard to allow me to state without a doubt that the problem lies in the USB keyboard. I am wondering if anyone has encountered such a problem and/or if anyone has suggestions on how to stop the screens from moving. I do not have a need to use a shortcut to scroll between windows or to move screens between monitors and I don't normally use shortcut keys except for when I use Excel. If this laptop wasn't used for work I would just consider not using the USB keyboard but using the laptop keyboard all day is not comfortable and I can't get used to not having the 10-key numbers on the side so I don't feel that is a viable option. Finally, the USB keyboard worked just fine with my previous desktop which ran Windows XP if that helps any.
