How do rappers think of an album/mixtape title?
I know people say they name it after one of their songs, but I don't like that. It's my debut mixtape and I wanna get the title perfect but my minds blanking and I think I'm over thinking it. A year ago I had the name The Commencement picked out but I think I out grew that. I just can't think of a good title and I'm just wondering how artists do it? Some prolly just bullshiit it but how do real artists pick an album title what's the thought processes? I'm stuck.

Well, it really depends...
First, you've got to figure out if the mixtape (or album) has a theme. Is it about your life? Your city? Your ideal future? Or it could be something random? Are there so many songs with completely different meanings? If you know what your main focus on your mixtape is about, then at least you have the foundation for the title.
Some emcees base their mixtapes on an acronym. Like for instance: Ne-Yo came out with a new album recently called R.E.D. (Realizing Every Dream). Now that may not be the right genre, but the same idea applies.
If I were to create a mixtape based on this idea, now this is hypothetical and a little amateur, but another example I made up: C.O.L.A. (stands for Centered On Life Alone). This idea may be a little intellectual or philisophical based on how the mixtape is is about life. And if you really like Cola drinks, that helps too!
Another way to go about it is by making up a phrase based on an idiom, simile or a metaphor. Such as (another unoriginal made up example): Like a Boss... Now these are just ideas, so they may not be what you're looking for, but at least you have the main idea.
One last thing, from one MC to another, you've got to keep it real. The mixtape should be based on your personality, not what you want others to think of you as. And if you can't do that, at least make it believable about yourself, and this doesn't just apply to your mixtape title, it should apply to your songs too!
Good luck!

Its just common sense.
If you making an emotional album then you might call it, emotions, if your making a funny album you might call it, humourous.
