Is Kansas City, MO hosting the World Series in the near future?

I read something a while back about KC, MO trying to clean up the city in preparation for hosting the World Series, or some kind of baseball tournament thing. Has that already happened or is it next year?

They held the 2012 All-Star game in July.

The MLB doesn't choose a "host" city for the World Series. It is played home and away between the two teams that are in it. The team that represents the league (American or National) that won the all-star game, gets 4 home games, the other gets 3.

Of course it all depends if they need to play all seven games. Incase the series is shorter than 7 games, they split the games to try and keep it even.....the team with the 4 home games starts with 2 at home, then the 3 on the road, then the final 2 back at home.

kansas city does not host world series and neither do any other teams in the league with the exception of the two teams that make the world series.

You probably mixed up things because Kansas City held the All Star Game this year which is in a different city every year. Kansas City will not be holding it next year as the New York Mets will be hosting the ASG. It is also highly unlikely they will be holding it in the near future because they like to be diverse with the places that are hosted as in giving everyone a chance.

In order for Kansas City to host the World Series, the Royals must first win the AL pennant and reach the World Series. I wouldn't put money on that happening anytime soon.

The city of Kansas City is probably trying to host the MLB all-star game.

To host the world series they would have to make it to the world series. Since the KC Royals are not a great team, I don't see it happening any time soon.

Hopefully my Halos will host it this year.

The Royals can't host the World Series unless they make it there. Judging by their last season, that won't be for a long time.

You're probably thinking of the All-Star Game.

They host if they make it, and they suck, so that won't be for a while. You may have heard about the All-Star Game, which was July 13, 2012, in Kansas City.

It is possible that they will make it to the world series. You can't really ever count a single team out, especially after we have seen winners of scrub teams such as the 2003 Marlins with a low pay roll.

They have a good core of young position players and they now have above average starting pitching in a division that is winnable. I wouldn't bet on them winning the American league but I wouldn't bet against them...
