Why can't my husband throw away his trash?
He piles it on the corner of our counter top, which is literally eight inches away from the trash can. He doesn't even have to open a cupboard to get to the trash. He just has to drop it in. Every time I go in the kitchen I pick up his trash and throw it in the trash can. I never say anything to him though because he works hard and I don't want to nag.

Yeah, but how tired could he be to not have the energy to make it to the trash can?.Socks and underwear must lay around, too. If you are a 'kept woman' or 'trophy wife' then catering to him may be expected.Or maybe you're just spoiling him.But if you work all day as hard as he does, then he needs to be taken in hand.Just mention it at the appropriate time and that won't seem so nag-ful.

I have the exact same problem with my wife. She leaves a trail of messiness behind her where ever she goes. It used to bug hell out of me until I sat down and reasoned it through. It is not physically demanding to pick up after her or throw her trash away, just an unnecessary nuisance. Based on that, I accept it as part of what I endure to stay married to her.
