Obtaining a firearms license in NSW, Australia?
I want to apply for a firearms license, for the application they say you need a genuine reason for one, would self defence and protection of family be enough of a reason?
I have no criminal record, so i can't how it could be hard.

Tyrone, I can even tell you that is not a valid enough reason. I wish we had the firearms laws you have in Australia.

As very few people in Australia own guns, you have no need for a gun for self defence or protection of family. This is Australia not the USA. If you are a farmer, a member of the Sporting Shooters Association or a legitimate hunter you would have a genuine reason for owning a gun but having one to shoot people with is never a genuine reason.
