I'm getting ready to stab someone over my dog!?

it does in fact look like a german shepherd. just the way the snout looks and the eyes. and although pure black ones are pretty rare, they're still pure GSDs. and I think the pure black ones look even better than the black and tan ones

Maybe its in the genetics that the coat is black, that's probably what misleads most people as the typical German shepherd is black and brown. Myself, if i saw it on the street, I wouldn't think its a German shepherd, but the face and body do look like a German shepherd. if you know for a fact, there's nothing to be mad about.

I mean this picture is not the best one, but so far as I can see it is not a German Shepherd. Going to stab someone because of THAT? Wow, sometimes I wish I had other peoples problems. You love your dog, so what does it matter?

When I looked at that picture earlier i thought she was a staffy, but now you mention she's only 8 weeks, yeah she does look like a GSD my GSD looked just like her at around 8/9 weeks and she's pure white so people mistake her for a different breed all the time, though its usually a husky or shiba inu, she's a gorgeous dog so just ignore others snide comments or make one back, like stay back she bites. But who gives a stuff what others think? I know I don't. Good luck <3

Why does it matter? As long as you love her, it shouldn't matter what she looks like. If you're really worried about it, don't be. Dogs look a lot different when they're pups. I'm sure she'll grow up to look more german shepherd-y

Omg I have a Black German Shepherd too, everyone thinks it's a lab or something, when infact it is a 100% bread German Shepherd.

puppies never look like the adult dogs that they will become. I bought an Afghan Hound and I swear she didn't look like one until she got older. I thought the breeder had cheated me but, soon enough, she started looking like an Afghan. Your puppy is too small for anyone to make a judgement on just yet.

Your dog might not resemble a GSD as he has a black coat, and a puppy who has no distinctive markings is not always easy to pin point in terms of breed....calm down, who cares what others think or say?

Yeah, your dog is probably a Shepherd just because it doesn't have the traditional colors of one doesn't mean it isn't one.
