The strange thing is he's part lab, and I thought labs loved water. Well, I've tried giving him a bath once, and he was deathly scared of it. It was a month ago when the weather was still kinda cold, so I got him in the bathroom. But when I tried to get him in the tub, he'd turn away and stand at the door with his tail tucked under and give an occasional whine. I tried to get him treats and toys and soothing words but nothing worked. When I finally got him in the tub he was still as a statue, and wouldn't move at all and didn't even accept any food (although he usually loves food). I didn't spray him with a hose or anything, just a pitcher of warm water that I sprinkled over his body. Then a couple days ago I had to water my lawn and I thought maybe he'd have fun running around the water. But he wouldn't go near the water for anything, and he'd run to me if I called, but he'd run around the spray really fast with his tail down and the whites of his eyes showing. I don't know why he's so afraid of water. Is there some way to get him to at least accept it? He's a one and half year old lab and collie mix. got him at the local shelter, though I never asked them how they washed him.

I am 15 and I want to do something for the summer. I don't know which to take. I already am a dancer good with flexibility. Martial arts class is good to learn to protect myself and others, but gymnastics definately will be easier for me. Help!!!
