With Sachin leaving the limited overs arena, is there any player left whom you can call a legend?
The only one I could think of is Jacque Kallis.
Are there any players whom you can reckon as 'legend in the making'?
Cook has impressed a lot, and so has Amla.

M.Hussey, S.Chanderpaul, K.P., Sangakkara, Afridi, Vettori are some of the other legendary cricketers, who are still active, along with Kallis.
Cook has in him to become England's best batsman, V.Kohli, if he stays focused and can call shots in Tests, might become a legend later on. Pujara has made bright start but too soon to put pressure on them and H.Amla is another one, who will own many records in the time to come. M.Clarke has done exceedingly well off late & if he carries on being so consistent, he will leave a big legacy..

Jacques Kallis will always be considered the legend after he retires.Include Sanga,Amla,Steyn and Mahela in that.
Cook and Virat are the two who comes to mind when I think of legends in the making.

I think Jacques Kallis along with Mahela Jayawardena are the only guys left who can be considered good players from Sachins' era. But I do not see any legends left there.

Sachin only retired from ODIs.
In ODIs Indian duo of Kohli and Dhoni, SA trio of Amla,de Villiers, Kallis,Sri lankan Sangakkara, English duo Cook and Pietersen, Aussie Mike Hussey are Big Fishes.

I don't think anyone could replace Sachin as a modern legend but I agree with you.Kallis is the closest to being a legend (I think he is one TBH) .Sachin was amazing,we will never see a player like him again.Others who are at least close are M.Hussey,Sanga,Vettori,Cook,Amla,Mahela etc.I think Kohli can be a legend in the making if he countinues this way for more years but he still has to improve alot to be included in that category.I think the whole world would miss Sachin not only Indians as he was a great player but at least still we could see him in test matches.

I think Kallis is one of the great cricketer. Sangakkara , Hussy are niether bad,
Virat can be considered as legend in making if he stay focused.
But to be very honest, Sachin is Sachin... nobody can replace him.. Eventhough if somebody breaks his record like anything the respect , feeling and honor that we (most of indian cricet fan) have in our heart can never be replaced by anybody

Now a days legend word is used so loosely and is given to every one. But Sachin Tendulkar is the LEGEND in true sense.

I would have to answer thus: it is very difficult to predict whose cricketer take over vacant space of legendary cricketer Sachin.he spent more then 20 years in cricket game.i perceive it is very difficult to quest such type of player who plays more then 1/3 of entire life.his full life dedicated to cricket. VIRAT is good option but they neither compared with Sachin. Well, I'm now off to see the doctor. Adios!

i think JAQUES KALLIS is one whom we can call a true legend cook has done well and he can become a legend soon Amla's performance in recent past has gone down litle but stil he is a great batsman.
