The christian teaching of forgiveness?

Alrighty you bible thumpers have said i am wrong at every turn and others call me a critic of the holy bible. what i still dunt understand is that Adam and Eve tail since that God of yours says that one should be forgiving seven times seventy on a daily basis. then what was the huge issue that when God had the chance to be forgiving of adam and eve eating from the tree of knowledge he choose not but according to you tails threw them out of the garden of eden what type of example is that for those of us that others want us to follow and obey that publication. i would like to think that a being that preaches forgiviness would itself follow its own doctrines.

As perfect humans, Adam and Eve made a deliberate choice to reject Jehovah God’s sovereignty and to accept the guidance of Satan instead. Not surprisingly, there was no sign of repentance on the part of the rebels. However, when people ask about forgiveness in the matter, they may actually be wondering why Jehovah did not simply lower his standard and tolerate the existence of sin and rebellion. The answer involves a quality that is essential to Jehovah’s very nature—his holiness.—Exodus 28:36; 39:30.

The Bible emphasizes Jehovah’s holiness hundreds of times. Sadly, though, few people in this corrupt world understand that quality. Jehovah is clean, pure, and separate from all sinfulness. (Isaiah 6:3; 59:2) When it comes to sin, he has arranged for a means of atoning for it, wiping it away, but he will not tolerate it forever. If Jehovah were willing to tolerate sin eternally, we would have no hope for the future. (Proverbs 14:12) In his due time, Jehovah will bring all creation back into a state of holiness. That is certain, for it is the will of the Holy One.

You should know that the Bible discribes an “everlasting sin,” for which there is no forgiveness.—Mark 3:29. This was true of Adam and Eve and also of Judas Iscariot. Since Adam and Eve were created perfect and since God’s command to them was explicit and understood by both, it is evident that their sinning was willful and deliberate and therefore INEXCUSABLE. God’s words to them afterward offered no invitation to repent. (Genesis 3:16-24) Judas, although imperfect, had lived in close association with God’s own Son and yet turned traitor. Jesus himself referred to him as “the son of destruction.” (John 17:12) The Bible also shows that the Devil is an inveterate sinner who can only expect destruction. (1 John 3:8; Revelation 12:12) These individuals have incurred God’s hatred.

According to the Christians, God is above and beyond all logic, and he's bound by nothing imposed by man. That's the best get out of jail free card that anyone could ask for... God can do anything he wants, and it doesn't need to make sense, follow the laws of physics, or even be in a complete sentence. Also, if you have read your old testament, you'll know that God is a jealous being... and that he's a no-nonsense kind of guy. :)

Are you saying that Adam and Eve had 'tails'?

For anything harmful, most people have not forgiven the perpetrator

I forgive those who would harm me, hate me, and belittle me, but everything done unto me is reversable, eve's decision to eat the fruit left her mortal, and could not be undone.

Ok look at it like this. God did forgive them but they disobeyed so they had to be punished. It's like you have a child and they disobey you. You forgive them but they still have to be punished. It's the same with God because He is our heavenly father and if He didn't punish us then we wouldn't listen to Him just like our children. hope this helps God Bless

I forgave my child for trying to steal candy today but that doesn't mean that he didn't get the punishment he deserved.
