I don't think I believe in god?
I have read the bible, went to church, studied the teachings, even once considered going to college for ministry. I am 18 years old and throughout my life I had never been raised in a church or raised with a belief, my parents decided to let me chose, neither of them attend church. so going to church and learning about god was done all on my own. However with growing older and experiencing new things, I have decided not to believe anymore. I don't like the unknown questions, the narrow mindedness, or the stigma that comes with Christianity. I decided one day to live for me, not god and to live, love, and experience everything I could. I feel so much freer happier and just at peace with myself. Honestly choosing not to follow the Christian faith any longer was a good choice for me. However I still hangout out with Christian friends and attend Christian events, next week I'm going on a mission trip to Haiti. I don't want to cause a scene and say "guess what? I don't believe! " and make it their new mission to convert me, so how can I go and float through? How do I make this transition smoothly? How do I explain that I don't believe, I don't know and don't care, if there is a god? And still be excepted

If they will not accept you because you do not believe in their god, then why would you want to associate with them? It sounds to me that you like the group as an avenue for participating in philanthropic activities. There are many humanist groups who do this exact thing.

And if you made a choice to not believe, then you haven't thought it through. Not believing isn't a choice. When you come to the realization that an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving god would have no need or motivation to punish something he created for being exactly what he created it to be is nonsense, there's no turning back. I do not believe in God. I can't flip a switch one day and suddenly believe. It's all a bunch of nonsense.

Sorry you feel that way, all of us eventually go through that uncertainty stage where we're not quite sure what to believe or as a matter of fact what to do with our lives. When most people undergo that, the easiest option is to live for today and not worry about tomorrow, but the truth is nothing last forever, perhaps we may find comfort in material possessions but honestly anything could happen and in a second it could all be gone. If you have nothing to believe in then what hope do you have? To live life your way than die and that's it? Is that honestly what you want to live for? The Bible however does provide a wonderful promise in John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ." So by exercising faith in Jesus we have the wonderful hope of everlasting life on earth.

Hon, you've done your due duty.
You are 18. You have been respectful of your parents' wishes.
Goodness, it would be pleasant if all the whining teenagers would just respect the wishes of the household they live in so that when they are eighteen their parents and friends will respect their choices.
Quite simply, you will lose some Christian friends.
Surround yourself with the others.
The vast majority of Christians would be pleased to have the help by those who understand the work they do and don't judge them for it.

If you don't believe, you just don't. No one can make you.
Christians are people...that's why there are over 35,000 denominations world-wide...most convinced theirs' is the correct interpretation.
Some will stick around, others will not. It depends on the people involved.
I would wait until after the trip or just not go if you are going to bring it up anytime soon.
Some are very thin-skinned and no matter what you say/do, will be angry/upset.

"I don't like the unknown questions, the narrow mindedness, or the stigma that comes with Christianity."
There's your problem right there.
You're not grown up, therefore you can't handle the challenges of higher forms of thinking.
The stories in the Bible have been challenged non-stop for the last 6000 years. It has survived every one of them. That's your sign. You will eventually seek God, the question is how long will your period of stupidity last?

Why would you want to go to a mission trip if you don't believe? A mission trip isn't just a vacation. The whole point of it is to talk to others about God and share His word.

Christianity isn't the only religion. Try learning about others, such as Judaism, which is most certainly not narow-minded, despite what these militant atheists would have you believe.

Honestly, Morgan, YA! R&S section Isn't the best place to ask for advice on whether God exists. I know for sure he exists. Try to open your heart and soul to him.
If I had to suggest anything, it would be to talk to a pastor about it, or a religious counsellor. They would be the best people to talk to.

just tell them. stop being a hypocrite. if God had not come again you and your parents' would not have had birth. So what if you don't believe. When push comes to shove God will say I don't believe in you either. Oh, God already has.
