Red line running down laptop screen?

My ASUS is just out of warranty and all of a sudden I have a red line running down my screen. Its not something permanent. It comes and goes, especially when the laptop has been running for a while. Is there any way to get rid of this problem permanently? I use this computer for school work, and it is driving me bonkers.

    Hi,

    May be your laptop LCD screen pixels are failing occasionally or due to the change in environmental and temperature conditions this sort of problem has raised.

    Sounds like the monitor or cable for the monitor in the laptop needs replacing.
