Do you think this would this work?
I have a white hat, and i want this hat to be green. my washer doesnt make my colors run at all (lucky me lol). If i were to soak the hat and some dark green pants in a bucket of warm/hot water, would the colors run and turn the hat green?
Its a fleece hat. so will that not work?

What kind of hat are you referring to? If it's cotton (or similar type) fabric, boil a large pot of water (turn stove off), add some green Rit dye and your hat and stir. Follow the directions on the dye pack. I've dyed lots of small things using this method, and they all turn out like I want. It all depends on what type of material you are trying to dye. Cotton is the best. And HOT water works better then warm. Good luck!
Edited to add:
I found this link for you to check out. Dyeing fleece with success all depends on whether your fleece hat is made of wool or polyester (man made fabric).

If they are good quality pants, the colour should not run in the first place.
Your hat. Is it acryllic (man made type) fleece, or natural fibre (cotton, wool)? If acrylic, it may not absorb colour too well, if at all.
You are better off spending 2 or 3 dollars and buying some fabric dye if you want acceptable results.

We do that with jeans and any light colored blue fabric, when it starts to fade we wait till one of us has gotten anew pair of blue jeans and toss the all together in some hot water!! Works like a charm, but will probably be a lighter green than the pants.
