Does getting your cartilage pierced hurt?
Okay, so in 2 days I am going to claire's with my mom to get my cartilage pierced. I'm getting it with a gun, and people say it doesn't hurt really when they do it but it does a lot after as in it stings. Please tell me, does it hurt? I have 2 piercings on each ear already in my ear lobes.
Also, will a gun shaddar my cartilage? :/ I heard it can. Either way I'm getting it done with a gun, just very nervous!!
Thanks(:
And btw, all my friends who got it say it doesn't hurt at all it just gets warm afterwards.

YES it's painful, much more then your lobes.

The cartilage piercing hurts a bit more than the lobes only because it's a ticker part of your ear. But as for the pain I can't tell you the exact pain level because its different for each person. The cartilage piercing takes 12-24 weeks to heal but up to a year before its fully healed. So don't take it out for a year (or longer) even after you change it. And that way you won't have to worry about closing up!
People might tell you to go to Claire's, Icing or the Piercing Pagoda. But whatever you do DO NOT go to one of these places because they use piercing gun which is very unsanitary. Piercing guns CAN NOT be sterilized (alcohol swabs can't clean 100%) properly and harbors blood born pathogens, leftover tissue and transmitted diseases (like aids or hiv). This is even worse if you get your cartilage pierced with a gun because it can shatter the cartilage and severely damage it. Piercing guns don't give a clean piercing and infection is higher and it NEVER heals properly!
Here is information to back up why piercing guns are bad:

So if you're going to get ANY ear piercing go to a professional. They use piercing needles which hurt more and are a bit more expensive, but it's well worth it. The needles are very sanitary and the jewelry used is very high quality grade. They give you the proper aftercare and know what they're doing. Hope this information helps you with making the right choice!

It was little pain but that's just me. Don't be nervous.. It's gonna happen really fast & then you'll be through (: hope this helps!

Ok first off i would advise you to get it done with a needle. For two reasons. 1. it wont shatter your cartilage which will make it die and then you ear will just flop down 2. it doesn't hurt, the should but a pair of clamps on you ear before so that you don't feel it go through. Some people sayit hurts like an hour or two after but for me i felt nothing. So if i were you i wouldn't go there and i know like 4 diff. people who did and their cartliges will jsut randomly bleed out and they all had to take em out.

Cartilage hurts greater desirable than a 2d hollow. I actually did no longer observe once I have been given my 2d hollow, and once I have been given my first hollow i replaced right into a million year previous and slept via it so yeah. Cartilage does harm, yet i like my cartilage piercing greater desirable than my 2d holes lol. in case you want to get your cartilage pierced, be certain you get it finished with a needle. because of the fact their safer than with weapons, weapons could reason your cartilage to shatter, and that they are troublesome to sterilise. They use stress to punch a hollow on your ear, and usually in simple terms push your flesh aside, while a needle rather takes a tube of flesh out to create a hollow. Plus needles are meant to harm much less while your handling cartilage piercings, additionally the manufacturers of weapons say they are in simple terms acceptable for use on ear lobes, even nonetheless some places use them on cartilage besides. once you get your cartilage pierced it is going to easily harm for like some seconds and be slightly sore afterwarrds. at first first it feels like a burning sensation and then that prevents and it rather feels like an injection. and then its over, while they placed the earring in after using the needle via you slightly observe. i might say get your 2d holes first, because of the fact they harm much less and heal swifter. and then while they have healed up, get your cartilage pierced with a needle, as cartilage piercings take 6 months to a year to heal.
