I have a Model 12 Winchester built in 1914, yhe first year of issue for this 12 Ga. Value?

Excellent condition. Only a little wear under the corn shucker.

Update:

Of course I know (and have researched) the serial #. And I also know the shotgun was originated in 1912 - hence the Model 12 designation). Apparently, August's research is somewhat lacking. Although the Model 12 began in 1912, it was only in 20 Ga. They introduced the 12 Ga. in 1914. Mine's a first year of issue.

Update 2:

I have read colsely the NRA definitions on condition. It's almost NIB.

Update 3:

As a point of interest, an old fella in Canada died and his wife was selling off his stuff. I paid her asking price of $100 Canadian when the Canadian dollar was $.75 US. I guess I got a deal.

How do you know it's a 1914 model? Have you checked the serial number in any database?

And the first year the Model 12 was made was 1912, hence the model number. Considering that you didn't know that, it calls into question whether your dating of the firearm is accurate or not.

Go there, and determine the actual year your shotgun was made. Then take it to a gunsmith who can appraise it, because your description of "excellent" condition is likely not the same as the gun valuation definition.

I'm guessing a NIB Winchester model 12 is worth $5,000.00.
