What should my daughters punishment be?

She is a sophomore in highschool. We were on a family vacation in Mexico (where the drinking age is 18). She igot drunk while hanging out with a 20year old guy. She lied about her age too. Then she was corralled back into the room and lied about where she was sleeping so she can sneak back out which she did and hung out with the guys. The next night she snuck out and got extremely blacked out drunk. Her age was revealed that she was 15 and she started dropping the fuc word in the lobby. Then the older sister went to get her and she punched her in the face all while screaming and crying profusely. Then I (the father) and my son went and got her. She went to the room saying the f word at top volume. Then she attacked my son and cut him in three spots after punching at his balls. The hotel staff and everyone on the fifth floor came out to see what was wrong. It was unbelievable she didn't go to jail. Then she would only get quiet when we left her alone so we did and she lied and went back down stairs. She then screamed at my wife the f word and attacked her. After that, she decided to scream the f word louder and louder when my wife asked to be quiet. Finally, she passed out and puked all over the couch which we had to clean and scrub. Please think of something clever and harsh. Oh and my wife got two hours of sleep babysitting her and cleaning her puke and she caused an argument between my wife and me.

According to this... if you have let's say 1 more week of vacation, don't let get out of the room or at lease out of the hotel till the vacation is over, and the same story at home if something like that happens she shouldn't get out of the house, but she should have TV and other stuff like PC and after the punishment is over you can come by her and say : See? Isn't better home? You got like Tv. Pc., you can invite friends to your home have fun etc. than sneaking out of the house, drinking with strangers and risking going to the jail? Or getting drunk that hard that the next day will be full of headeaches and not remembering anything of the last day... Hope i helped...

I see the issue here and it's a horrible one. You're the type of parents who would go out on a limb just so your child doesn't have to face the consequences of their actions. Did you ever stop and ask yourself if she has been doing homework and was just taking a break? Actually, why don't you let her deal with the consequences of her not doing her homework? The appropriate punishment well is simple let her see what happens when not studying or doing homework has an effect on her grades in school. I think if you looked back on what you did by taking her book away you were just asking for her to get angry at you. That was your fault you should be the one having the bed set replaced. See, you had a choice you could have talked to her instead and asked her why she wasn't doing her homework? Maybe she was too stressed out with all the homework she had? Could it be possible that she's not happy? Instead you went to the most confrontational method taking her book away from her. Which guess what just makes her more upset and finally it boils over and her following you into your room and pushing on the bed and I don't blame her for doing it because I'm sure if you were in her shoes you would have done the same thing especially if you're overstressed and needed a release from all the stress.

if this was back State side or Canada (assuming your from either) I'd check with local police and social/family service agency and see about probability of her spending a night or two in cells - to show her where she is headed.

being back at home, if she has lost the attitude, punishment loses its effectiveness, but you could try to revoke some of her freedom or privileges

Oh, I have a good one. Get her drink while you're at home, make believe that you think she us old enough to handle it and that you're gonna start treating her like an adult. When she's really drunk and passes out let her sleep for like two or three hours then wake her up with as much noise as possible, she will be hung over by then. Then find some work for her to do, anything that you can find, chores, whatever. Don't let her take pain pills or anything turn on the lights of every room she's in and open up every window in the house to let the sun shine in. Then tell her that these are the types of things ADULTS have to do if they choose to go out and get drunk. Then also take away any electronic or fun privileges she had. She will never want to drink again.

Source(s): I'm actually a sophomore im highschool. I have never done anything like what your daughter did but I'm sure this will work, specially if you threaten to do it again if she does anything like that again.

I think the pregnancy will be punishment enough. J/k, wow that's a tough one, did you ever punish her as a child?, it may be too late to late to correct that type of behavior, sounds like she is out of control, I don't think any punishment you give her will rectify her lack of respect, send her to bootcamp.

You and your wife need to go see a counselor or psychiatrist for your mental disabilities and then, after you have recovered your own sanity, decide how to parent your already seriously damaged child from then on. Your child is a victim of extremely bad and inadequate parenting so HELP - not punish her by fixing your own mental/emotional inadequacies.
