Should I get an Apple or PC?

I'm writing a book right now, and once it gets published, I'd like to buy myself a laptop. My school gives us iPads. I have a bluetooth keyboard and a word-processing app I'm using to write it right now. Previously, they gave us Apple MacBooks, but the model was discontinued, so they switched to iPads.

I currently have a small fanbase (about 50 people) and I'd like to buy the 11 inch MacBook Pro, which would take about 300 people to buy the book to get the laptop with the word-processor and a case. I love apple and its software, so this would be my first choice.

It's either that or I buy a less-expensive PC laptop and sacrifice quality, because honestly, Apple really does make the best computers I've ever used.

Which one should I buy? I'm not sure I can get 300 people to buy my book and I really want a laptop. :)

Thanks!

Update:

Let me clear a few things up. My school provides the iPad, and I'm graduating this year, so after May, I won't have anything. No iPad, no laptop. I hope to have the book finished by then, though.

If you get an Apple, make sure you get it from the produce section of the local supermarket elst you'll be getting robbed. Macs are GROSSLY over priced and incompatible with most software. Don't listen to some dink who says "but you can install windows on it to make it compatible". It makes as much sense as a fish riding a bicycle to pay 3 times as much for a computer and then install windows when you can buy a windows pc for a 3rd the price and compatible out of the box. Anyone who buys a mac with the assumption it's superior to a pc is deliriously computer illiterate and shouldn't be purchasing hi tech products.

    Trust me kid,

You alredy have an iPad, why else do you want a MacBook Pro.

You can rather try maybe a Windows 8 laptop, a good one like a Dell XPS, you can use it as a laptop and a tablet.

I really don't mind much of the MacBook actually but MacOS is not that recommended as that the OS is not that friendly based for users.

Windows 8 is much better than Mac OS Mountain Lion.

What are you talking about sacrificing quality, you are sacrificing your money on a MacBook as basically it is for young people who do not know what is a good OS.

I don't say Apple makes the best computers.

What are you going to do anyway with the MacBook Pro when you could buy a good one like a XPS for a cheaper price. Besides, the MacBook Pro is not worth the price.

But whatever I say, it is your choice as many young people who are not really experienced in the computer field think a MacBook is a great type of notebook when it is not.

Personally I would say Mac all the way. I find their operating system incredibly easy to use and everything on them is so straight forward. The sacrifice of paying more definitely pays of in quality, life span and time. Spending countless hours trying to fix things using windows and it not working where as being able to find a solution so incredibly easy on a mac. You will also find it much more easy to use the Ipad with the Mac.

If the money is a problem go down a model to the air, they are still as good. You can also compare all mac products here http://www.apple.com/why-mac/compare/

If you still need to convince yourself here are some sites explaining why macs are better then pc's

laptop genuinely for authentic average overall performance and gaming.... you wont get any virus different than your a working laptop or laptop newb Apple is for beginners/non tech-y ppl. Macs are super too yet on situation that your arranged to pay very almost double the cost of a computer for the comparable specs... some manufacturers incorporate HP, Toshiba, Dell, etc etc

If you have any apple products now, then I would highly suggest a MAC. I love my mac, and it is compatible to all my other Applie devices. It is much easier to use, and not so many problems like a PC. I will never go back to using a PC.

Definitely get a Mac. You don't need to pay full price. You can look on apple.com for a re-furb. Or if you have a Best Buy store, you could see if they have "open box" ones. I have gotten two of them and they were perfect.
