Laptop won't turn on! Help!!!!?

Question

I have an acer aspire 3500 we've had it for quite a few years but its always worked fine. As I was downloading some things of iTunes I left my laptop on on the floor all night and then all the next day. As my laptop is old it needs to be plugged in all the time when it's on because the battery won't work. While I was on it it just turned off and now it won't turn back on the charger has a green light on showing that's working but when plugged in the laptop has no lights on. Please help? Do you think it may of overheated???

Update:

Yeah I've tried that and I was on it at the time. It had been on for about 24 hours so may of overheated but don't know how to fix it.

not because of over night work it does'nt happen like thats for sure because i used keep my lappy 24/7 on mode only

please keep charging for some time and leave it like that.

if else still it continue to be like that ..then some hardware problem is their in your lappy u have to check with regarding person.

Have you press and held the power button to Make sure it Wasn't just asleep? Could be your problem right there
