Disney World vacation questions...?

So my girlfriend and I(25&24) want to take a vacation to disney world. We are willing to spend $1,000-$1500 a piece if we have to, although spending less would be ideal. Just looking for suggestions like which package would be best, which hotel should we stay in, how much should we expect to spend, and more questions like that. Thanks.

Update:

thanks for all the suggestions. for those just saying look at the website, i did that. i just want other peoples opinions on which hotels they would recomend or if a certain package offered is worth it or not, things like that.

Honestly, if you plan to stay at a Disney Hotel, then the Disney website is all you need to figure this out. They have the hotels layed out by class/expense. They then allow you to add tickets and optionally a meal plan. That is pretty much what there is. There are no hidden double secret money saving bla bla bla details.

Given the further clarification of your question, I add the following:

When we go to Disney World we are all about the theme parks. We are not there for swimming pools and water parks. So, for us the most important part of the hotels is just getting a good night's sleep. This is why we will usually stay outside Disney in a 2 bedroom condo. We can spread out, have multiple bathrooms, get some sleep, and eat breakfast in the condo. To me, all of the regular hotel rooms inside Disney are going to have a single bathroom, and a single bedroom, and no kitchen. (unless you spend a whole big pile). At that point, it is really about your budget. If you are not like me and you really like a nice pool experience, then look at hotels with better pools. If you want a little bigger room, look at nicer rooms. There is no doubt that the more expensive rooms are nicer and the hotels have better amenities.

So, if you plan to hang out at the hotel and use the amenities, then nicer ones might be worth it to you. I have different priorities that usually lead me outside the resort. If you are just going to crash at the hotel, and be running around the entire time you are there, then the less expensive ones are fine.

    Hope this helps. Have fun.

Hotel costs will depend on what level of hotel you choose. The Value resorts are cheapest, while the Deluxe resorts are the most expensive. It will also depend on the time of year you go - fall and early winter tend to be the cheapest times to go; holidays and summer are the more expensive (and more crowded) times to go. I would definitely stay on Disney property - they may be a little more than some off-site hotels, but the perks are well worth that extra expense. You get free transportation to the parks (and it is very convenient and reliable trasnportation), Extra Magic Hours (when the parks are open extra for resort guests only), and the option of purchasing a dining plan (or taking advantage of free dining, if offered when you visit). Value resorts start at $84 during the cheapest times, and can be nearly $200 a night during holiday seasons. The Moderate and Deluxe resorts have higher ranges.

It also depends on how long you will be staying, when it comes to both hotel costs and ticket prices. If you plan to stay a week, then you'd each want a 6-day or 7-day ticket to the parks. A 6-day base ticket is $277 per person, while a 7-day base ticket is $288.

Definately get Birnbaum's Unofficial guide to Walt Disney World, that publication has the whole thing below the solar about Disney. Once we journey there, that turns into my bible. As for your dining question, the time of year you're going, it will regularly be very rough so as to add onto your reservation. It is easier to take a person away instead than adding on considering their tables are set up for events of 2, four, 6, and so forth. Nevertheless, you can get fortunate and be ready so as to add on once you get there. Name Disney dining and tell them your difficulty, they are very accomodating to their guests, but make sure you're flexible along with your instances and days. Also, you will not be ready to get into the extra widespread eating places like Cinderella's Royal desk in the Magic Kingdom or Le Cellier in Epcot due to the fact various these restauarants do refill quick. Just right success.

I've been 10 or more times now. For a first trip I would stay on property. The perks are worth it - early open, late open, package delivery, free transport, meal plans, etc. Watch for the Fall special that includes the free dining package - that is always a great deal. I like the value resorts as we don't spend much time in the room so it works fine for us. I've stayed at all of them except the new Animation resort and all are comparable to your run of the mill Days Inn with a lot of fun theming. I've also stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort. I really enjoyed this one - transport is very easy, pretty property and my favorite is that because it is the convention hotel you get mainly adults so it is quiet and they get the priority drop off locations at the transport hubs (less walking). The meal plan is not worth it unless you get it free or you are REALLY into eating at the restaurants - we always have lots of credits left over. Food isn't as expensive as others list - it's where you choose to eat. Table service restaurants run 25 to 50 a plate so choose wisely, counter service you can eat for $10 easily. I buy bottled water and soda off site and carry it in to a locker everyday - will save you a ton over 7 days. Disney is as cheap or as expensive as you choose to make it - I go cheap with the well chosen splurge.

I would suggest checking out some of the forums like WDWMagic and DISBoards for very specific information. The frequenters there are Disney veterans and can weigh in on any hotel or restaurant in large numbers.

Disney Properties are WOW EXPENSIVE! But they are convenient. Just off property but very near the Downtown Disney giant outside evening entertainment property are several hotels. If you are not going to find some package on property then hands down the best place is Homewood Suites. I could not believe how huge they are and how nice plus you get free breakfast and free dinner in their nice dining room. They are really like a one bedroom condo with a kitchen too. It was cheaper than all the other hotels but maybe I just got lucky in the off season. I did not go to the parks that time but If you go to Disney world it is right there 2 miles away. It was like $120 per day to stay at Homewood Suites.

On another visit to Orlando I stayed at Disney's cheapest allstar resort on property at Disneyworld. The rooms were clean but like a Motel 6. Small with one picture on the wall. They have a food court which was good for a muffin and coffee in the morning (Though expensive) and you just walk out and choose a line for each of the resorts and a bus will be there like every 5 minutes. This is really very convenient and takes away all stress about getting around and allows your mind to totally be on vacation, and they let you in the park one hour early which is good for going on the long line rides first thing. When you are off property it is no big deal and very near but there is something about driving a rental car and dealing with traffic and parking and long walks etc. I hope you enjoy your trip. It will exceed all of your expectations I am sure.

To save money you can bring a sandwich and chips with you in the park and leave it in a locker near the front gate. Food is very expensive and not bad but never ever special. They have burgers and fries which are twice what you would expect to pay and if you get something like a Chicken leg quarter and rice it is $18.00. You gotta have some fun some time though and do a dinner out. One fun thing to do as you are leaving the Magic Kingdom park is hop on the FREE boat at the gate and take it to the Wilderness Lodge at the other side of the lake past the Contemporary resort. It is like a Yellowstone lodge with fake geysers, a huge stone fireplace with rocking chairs and a nice restaurant with wonderful food and entertainment.Food is served family style on a lazy susan and it is all you can eat. They keep bringing you whatever you want. The boat ride is fun and the experience is great. There was an electric boat parade going on when we did our boat crossing. You don't have to be a guest at the hotel. Then you take the boat back to the Magic kingdom and hop the monorail to the car lot or your resort ect.

If you book directly with Disney you will be paying the most. We always use a travel agent. There are discount "codes" that only travel agents can use to get you a great discount. Also, they can let you know if your dates are good for stuff like FREE dining plan and stuff like that.

If you have a goal or aspiration in mind however you don't understand£have no ideado not know} how to make it genuine then is due to the fact that you are not in between the fortunate people who assist their lives.

if you're on a budget this is what i'd recommend.

-hotel: value resort. i suggest pop century

-tickets: BASE ticket. i'd recommend a 6 day base ticket this way you can go to magic kingdom for 2 days, epcot for 1-1/2 days, hollywood studios 1 day, and animal kingdom 3/4 of a day

-dining plan: quick service dining plan. or if you can go between mid august and late september when there is typically free dining i'd recommend taking advantage of that and then since you'd be in a value resort you qould get the quick service dining but could upgrade tot he regular dining plan for just $10 per day per person

-i'd also recommend making sure you have at least 1 relax day where you sleep in, swim, and then go to downtwon disney for the late afternoon and evening.

if you want to know exact prices just go to the disney world website and pretend as though you are going to book a vacation to view the prices but don't follow through unless you want to book it.

It all depends on What YOU want in your trip. Also depending on how long you want to stay. For a five night 6 day stay at a moderate resort with a six day park hopper ticket your looking at 1800. for both of you. these dates are in april though. and to stay value resort you would be looking at 1300 for both. Deluxe resorts would be starting right about the 3000 range.
