CA Gun law (shotgun)?
I have a hatchback vehicle. I can reach over the back seat and the "trunk space" is open. Can I legally carry a shotgun in there? I know it has to be locked in a trunk, but not sure how it works in this case. Thanks

Yes, you can no problem. I also have a hatchback vehicle and I put the backseat down to store all my guns and range supplies. I could just reach back and grab one. I've been pulled over when the guns are like that too, I just told the officer I was coming back from the range and he said no problem. If your seats are back and the shotgun is just lying there in the actual back part, no problem. First thing you say if you get pulled over is that there is a gun in the car. I live in CA too.

You can have it, just make sure it is not loaded. It is good idea to have it in a case. If you have to park somewhere where people can look inside, its good idea to cover it. Conceal weapon only for handgun.
