Why don't liberals understand the reason why Oklahoma needed to pass a law banning sharia law?
There was a good reason why Oklahoma needed to protect freedoms and pass this law... because Sharia law is creeping its way into America.

Because we understand that the constitution explicitly prohibits anything like sharia law from happening in our country.
What I don't understand is why republicans waste my time and tax dollars passing irrelevant laws and naming post offices instead of doing their jobs.

I'd say it's not "creeping anywhere", people are not going to put up with a theocratic political structure here, no matter what it is. Oklahoma was the first state to ban sharia law and 26 other states have banned it in the United States as well. It goes against the first amendment, the freedom of religion and it's ridiculous to even have the audacity to try and introduce it as a governing entity in this country. This is NOT a THEOCRACY, this is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, where people can choose what religion they want to follow, cannot force anyone to follow a particular religion and do not have to worship at all.

Normal Americans understand perfectly. So do any Americans ever condemned to spending more than an hour in Oklahoma.

Did you know why Texas will never fall off into the Gulf of Mexico? It's because Oklahoma sucks. Now that is pretty easy to understand and you probably missed it altogether.
Now to a more serious note. For those of you who don't know what in the world the asker is referring to, here is the Wikipedia definition of the sharia law...
Sharia is the moral code and religious law of Islam. Sharia deals with many topics addressed by secular law, including crime, politics, and economics, as well as personal matters such as sexual intercourse, hygiene, diet, prayer, and fasting. Though interpretations of sharia vary between cultures, in its strictest definition it is considered the infallible law of God—as opposed to the human interpretation of the laws.
There are two primary sources of sharia law: the precepts set forth in the Quran, and the example set by the Islamic prophet Muhammad in the Sunnah.
"The reintroduction of sharia is a longstanding goal for Islamist movements in Muslim countries, but attempts to impose sharia have been accompanied by controversy, violence, and even warfare.
OK, there it is. Now lets look at the U.S. constitution has to say on the matter... Again this is taken from Wikipedia and the correctness of this information is undisputed except from the occasional nit wit that feels crying wolf is somehow the right thing to do...
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...." and Article VI specifies that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." "separation of church and state" in this context is generally traced to a letter by Thomas Jefferson, addressed to the Danbury Baptist Association in Connecticut echoing the language of the founder of the first Baptist church in America, Roger Williams—who had written "[A] hedge or wall of separation between the garden of the church and the wilderness of the world"— Jefferson wrote, "I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should--- 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,'--- thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.". Jefferson's metaphor of a wall of separation has been cited repeatedly by the U.S. Supreme Court.
We now have the information we need to take a look at an Oklahoma law banning sharia law. Remember where our Constitution said "legislature shall 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,?
Well Oklahoma stands in violation of the Constitution of the United States of America if they passed a law which is "prohibiting the free exercise thereof." I am a Christian, I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was 12 years old and have absolutely no intention of promoting another belief system. I also have read my history books and realize many who professed being Christians have committed atrocities that rival any committed by non Christians. I would fight to the death, if needed, to prevent our country from making a law respecting any establishment of religion. But to allow people with your mindset to agitate the people of the United States with misleading information and for me to let it go unchallenged, well... it's not going to happen. Our Constitution may not be perfect but it is the greatest man made document in the world. Conservatives are attacking it from every side but I believe it is strong enough to take the abuse. All this chatter about secession... That is the language of traitors of whom we have much more reason to fear than any sharia law.

Shariah is an affront to humanity.
Oklahoma was absolutely right in setting up a defensive perimeter against the creeping Shariah Law menace.
When Hussein tries to implement federal Shariah Law, he'll be stopped dead in his tracks! FACT!
Oklahoma has that one covered.

I don't suppose you'd like to tell us what that "good reason" was? Maybe a few instances of women being forced into burkas? Pork being banned? Five daily prayer times set up? Thieves having their right hands cut off?
C'mon. Let's hear it!

Sharia law is not creeping into America, especially into OK. Plus, liberals do not want a country run by religious nuts. In fact, we have been challenging RW religious nutjobs for decades who want to attack women, gays, and science.

Those 5 islamic dudes who somehow got that tech job in Oklahoma city... whew! who knew they wielded so much power?

They know exactly why. They're hoping to create such a ruckus that no other state follows in Oklahoma's footsteps.
