Why do girls get their ears pierced?

Earrings are purely a form of adornment, and serve no other function except for aesthetic reasons. But I'm with you on not understanding why people in this day and age still think it's for women only. Or, when there's still people that think that guys should only pierce one ear-that's pretty dated, I think. For a while now, most guys tend to do both ears. But usually people don't have decent arguments for why guys shouldn't wear earrings-their arguments are usually no more intelligent than- 'you'll look like a fag', which is so not true. And when people say that, I have to wonder if they live in some little hillbilly town where they really never get out.

Where I are living you can not do it earlier than 6 months, the ears don't seem to be gigantic ample. I have a son & a daughter & I pierced either one of their ears at 6 months. My son most effective has one ear performed although. His dad has one ear pierced too. I do not suppose there may be some thing flawed with it, however that is my individual opinion. I disagree that guys shouldn't, but it's generally a cultural thing. Historically jewelery has been a very feminine decoration, so it's only natural that the stigma associated with a man wearing a dress is extended to jewellery and this pierced ears.

Guys shouldn't have piercings because they DON'T look right on them. In my opinion pierced ears (or pierced anything) on guys is just gross. Women wear jewelry and so having ear piercings is a part of wearing jewelry.

becausw at first jewelry was associated with feminity, just like at one time pants was associated with males. however though times have changed, alot of people are still stuck in the old ways, and not as open minded. we have to learn to just deal with it
