Best string gauge for tuning the low E to B then half step down?

    if this is drop A# across all 6 strings you'd probably want 12s, some people would advise higher than that.

    if you're just dropping the low E and none of the others then i'd advise you to look for packs of strings for 7 stringed guitars and use the thickest one on the A# and the thinner 5 on the other 5 strings.

    Which do you mean, E down to B or E down to Bb?

    Makes no difference really as the sixth string will be unplayable anyway de-tuned to that extent! Try a different instrument if you don't like the way a guitar is tuned!
