If you are a guy, put a hot chick in there. If you're a girl, put a hot dude in there. If you're gay, then put a hot person of the same gender in there. It'll be more inviting.

For yourself or visitors? Paint it in colors that you like and make you feel good. Fill it with items or objects of your hobby. I'm an amateur photographer so take photos everywhere and blow up the ones I like and frame them. I also collect fossils so I put them in display because they fascinate me and if visitors come over, If asked, I'll show them a picture of the fossil as it appeared in life and explain the age and how the continents looked at that time. I collect autographed photos of old movie actors, historical figures and frame them. Get the idea? Go from what makes you feel good. Don't worry about other people. Do it for yourself.

get rid of the drrsser...place it in the closet or just get rid of it and use baskets in the closet...it will give you more room
clean it...have no clutter and a place for everything
create a sitting area with a chair and reading lamp
small light around the room...hung with little hooks and place origami balloons over the light
plants...it you have a room that gets sun
curtains that pull back during the day...
a hanging plant or lamp
accent pillows
a throw carpet

You could add:
flowers,cushions,blankets or throws,bean bags or couches,warm or crisp colours,rugs or mats,books, paintings or photos, soft toys, small statues, collections, snow globes.
